So here's the deal this noob has craped out his gun, a tippmann A-5, he said that he cocked it and it would shoot, so then he recocked it and then it would shoot sorta. so my friend and I got to thinkin' that it was that he never cleand it before and that there was crud in the main body creating friction and makeing it not be able to shoot. so any way the kid asked me to look at it to see what was wrong with it, im thinin that i just have to clean it. Could there be anything else wrong with it? I told him that i would buy it for $50 and hes like ok. Is it a good idea or no? Edited by TRC1040 |

Well, if you have no morals, this is a very good thing to do. I'm sure
with the help of the forum (or more likely by yourself) you can get it
in fine working condition again, and $50 is cheap.
However if you have a conscience and whatnot and would feel guilty about ripping $100+ off some kid, then maybe you should just fix it for him. |

HAha but you must know this kid is a disgrace to paintball and i'm simply helping him buy not playing.... here is a little story his first game i was on his team, and off in the far distance we hear shots. you can barly hear it. he squeals (like a pig) and jump into the mud and curls into a ball. through his brand new gun into the stream and mud. |

Sounds good. Buy it, clean and maybe repair it. When it works fine again, show him and laugh.

I'd get it. Even if you don't want it (after you fix it), you can sell it again and make some quick $.

Might need a new oring on some part of rear bolt thing, cant think of
what it's called but that happened to me a long time ago. The O-ring
was bad and it wouldn't recock.
But ya buy it... Your ripping him off. This is gonna sound dumb but bare with me this is the best I can describe the bolt.... It's the one where the cocking rod (the gold skinny one) connects to in the back, it should be silver and heavier than all the other internal pieces. ![]() |

ya im not sure, the situation wasnt described well enough for me to
know for certain, but if he shot once, then had to recock and it shot
with what seemd like a lower velocity, i personally think something may
be wrong with the two screws that help regulate the c02 to the
gun. if he messed with anything at all have a local shop check it
out, which he should anyways, but if your interested in how to fix
this, if you find its the problem just pm me and ill help this kid out.
p.s. definetly by it. you could get it fixed so easily, and thats dirt cheap for an a5 Edited by Attila |
