    Posted: 09 December 2005 at 6:41pm

I have no idea why people buy this bulky expensive stocks for thier 98 or A-5.

1. You cant look down the top of your gun.

2. They get in the way while manuvering.

3. They'll cost you as much as your 98 did new!

I have made my own solution by utilizing the holes under my grip for a stock and replacing my braided cable with a male adapter allowing my remoteline to literally 'jack into' my powertube.  It works fine and cost me $15.

It's not original. It's called a T-stock. I could give you a half dozen links to ones for the 98. I own one as well.

You can still use a normal stock ANd sights if you have the right sight setup.

I never said my design is origonal.

I'm really just showing off my handiwork.

And I would love for you to show me what kind of setup allows you to see down the top of your gun using a full or CAR stock.  And even if thier is something, how expensive is it?  I spent $0 on this stock.

on top of that the T-stocks your speaking of are not the same.  They force you to hitch up your gun and hold it high up in order to see while having the stock against your shoulder.  This stock lines up to your body like a full stock but is designed like a T-stock.

See the thing about offset rails is that your not truely aiming your gun. The offset can create problems when your aiming your gun at distant or short targets.  It cant beat being able to aim straight down the top of your gun.

The fact that there is no true aiming in paintball I dont see any point in sights anyhow.

Wind effects a ball too much to be accurate reliably.

What are you talking about??

You must not hit anything when you play...

heh

And yes, offsets can work but they are limited, expensive, and not very ergonomic.

Welcome to the Forum. Read the FAQs, and the rules please. The rulses for sigs are 350 pixels wide by 150 pixels tall. Please resize, or remove your sig.

Good Day, Sir.

Incorrect. a variety of T-stocks are available in all kinds of elevations. I have one that can be mounted at the same elevation as yours, though I've used it on my Overlord pistol.

I have a Tippmann 98 with flatline. The sight mounted on top of the flatline gives it enough room for me to get my eye in there with the mask on. A raised sight rail would make it even easier.

SpecOps is for 1337 5n1p3r5, not real paintballers. You should know that.

I have nothing against SpecOps.  They have some sick products. I just rather make a stock for nothing then spend $85 on a dogleg stock.

There are people who smith there own stuff and there are people who buy things aftermarket.

Actually, after looking into it, you would say my stock is an L-stock.  Similar to the common stock found on the legendary Phantom pump by CCI.  Interesting...

Not a bad idea... I think this would make an interesting project trying to find out how to optimize the stock to properly apply this concept. If its this afforable, its worth a shot.
