no, u have to use a tiny drill bit, drill a hole into the stripped screw, then screw a smaller screw in that hole.

i heard that you can cut little slits on both sides of the bolt and then get a flathead screw driver and get it out, what do you cut the slits with?

Don't tell me...it's not the powertube screws, is it? Because then you might be in trouble.

take the size allen wrench that is used for that screw, then put some really strong glue into the hole and place the allen wrench into the screw and let it dry. after it's dried, twist and bingo

if you are handy with tools and have a dremel, try this method from this website http://www.builderswebsource.com/_discBT/000006c7.htm it worked for me when I stripped my allen bolts on my mountain bike. If you are not too confident, take it to someone who knows or your PB shop. That way you lessen the risk of injury and damage to your marker.

There is a kit you can get at a hardware store to tap out stripped screws. At least enough until you get something to grap on to with the pliers. Get one for the right size and as you tap it with a hammer, it rotates.
A good idea is to drill it out like others said, if you really booger it up maybe go larger to make a fresh hole then get a screw/nut to fit but you may need to counterbore the opposite side wider to seat the nut. |

Yeah, use a dremel and cut slits to use a flathead screwdriver or try the glue method. Or you could take it to your proshop, that way if they mess it up you can blame them.

Easy fix, with no likely chance of damage to your marker. Take the Allen wrench that fits(or actually used to fit). Get some JB Weld epoxy. Mix up a small batch and stick a dollop in the Allen wrench hole in the head of the bolt. Smear a little on the tip of the Allen wrench and stick it in the epoxy filled socket of the stripped bolt. Let it set up, over night is best, then screw the bolt out. |
