Getting that first job....

So, I've decided it's time to get out of my laziness, and get a job, I will be working on a worker's permit, but can't find anywhere to work....

I tried this one restaurant called Rice and Fries, but I went in and the chinese guy just said 'No' when I asked for an application, so I thought, all he knows is 'No' so he's the manager it turns out, and calims they don't have any... I think it's my image...

Imagine.....

Reggie White in front of you with an afro, and a man beard....

Which brings me to the point, what should I do to get that first job, and are there any ideas as to where I should go?(General ones, like WAL*MART, which I'm not allowed in...)

EDIT: I have also dubbed Rice and Fries 'Lice and Lies'.

If you are under 16 and have been kicked out of one place good luck getting a job right now.

Just go to every fastfood place and ask for an app.

Where do you live? Here, if you go to more "Mom and Pop" joints, they will hire younger people and usually they pay you in cash. Also, Publix hires at fourteen.

Wait until you're 16 and can drive yourself then start looking, it'll be easier to find a job and easier to keep it.

i had the same problem just wait i out till your 16. Hit up everythig nnear ya. I went to a nursing home and got a job there. Just apply everywhere. And keep at it. go once a week till you get a responce.

appearance is very important.  That is one of many selling points to a potential employer.    Be prepared and be confident.  If there is a hospital around, check there to see if they have a special program for summer youth.  We hired in the past, the same kids who worked with us during the summer in the program.  If not ask around or look into advertisers/newspapers to see if there are any summer youth programs to get started in.  Good luck

ask around because i have the same problem most people only hire 16 or if they hire 15 it has restrictions.  Your best bet would be to go to all of the stores around you and ask for applications.
