Well this time I took the fore grip off completely. Then put a
mp5 magazine with an expansion chamber in it on. Added the custom wood
grips and an Apex barrel. Lightened the hammer/bolt and a good friend
painted it with "Tiger Strips". Running out of things to mill on it so
it will stay this way for awhile.

why the mag and not just a reg. or exc..... and use it as a grip... the mag, to me, kills the look. like the milling |

Excellent job, I don't mind the mag since I can't see any other-gas-thru-mag looking that good on that gun...mp5 I assume.. yeah, if you stuck an Ak or M-4 Gas-Thru it would look horrible so keep the one ya got!. Great job man! One more thing.. if you got real wood grips it would look absolutely stunning!

Those are real wood grips - don't know who made them tho.
So far the Apex is great - good distance and I think quite good accuracy. Here's an overlay of my recievers compared to stock recievers The white line is where I milled off metal. ![]() |

Still use the stock ball detent, the metal under the ball detent is about .010" thick, if you push on it there the metal moves it so thin. |

That looks pretty cool. If you could put some kind of stock on it, it'd make a nice looking milsim.

Here's the specs; Super RT, polished internals, full boar rear cocking,
spyder clamping center feed neck, lightened bolt/hammer, shortened
cocking stroke, internal trigger stop, 8 stage expansion chamber, blade
trigger made from stock gta dbl. trigger, custom wood grips, apex
barrel, shocktech super fly bolt,
and over 10 ozs of metal removed on the outside and internally. Without the hopper it weights just under 3 lbs. Apex barrel is a little heavier than my J&J was and the magazine is all metal so I didn't save that much weight this time. Edited by ekim98 - 21 September 2006 at 7:30pm |
