Confederate Flag

Just wondering because Hoytshooter took some crap for it in the congrats _TT_ thread. Personally I don't mind it really.

Why yes I am offended by it.

EDIT: The American Flag represents a time and a Country that allowed and supported slavery.

I've got it in my sig, becuase my great great grandpa fought to leave the oppressive government, I beleive our governmet is starting to get very oppressive (lack of say in any matter). And say if the states were to seperate from the USA agian, and we had a chance at winning I'd gladly fight for it. Or if the united states people had an uprising to completly change our way of government I'd be quickly behind it, I'd fight for a fair, just, america, why not fight for what the fore fathers ment it to be?

I dont care i live outwith America. but i do see where hoytshooter is comeing from.

Yes, people's freedoms are protcted unless you have dark skin or lack a penis.

I'm not personally offended by it, but the reason people are is that it represents a time of slavery. The US flag stood during times of slavery? Sure, but the US wasn't created because people feared being forced to end the practice of slavery. The CSA was. Also, I have almost no problem with the confederate battle flag, unless some hillbilly is waving it at some black people to ridicule them. Americans died under that flag, and using it as a hate symbol is a desecration.

The Confedearacy was the most retarded stunt ever in American history. Not only did it destroy the South and cost more lives than any other American war, it gave Lincoln a chance to stomp state's rights out for good and set up some very bad precedents from a civil rights veiwpoint(although a stronger central government undoubtedly had a positive effect on our overall economy) that plauge us until today.

If I used that exact story only I plugged WW2 stuff in, would you support me having a swastika in my sig?
