Well the ambulance has to be stopped to run a 12 lead anyways!

Doesn't take 10 minutes to get a 12-lead reading!

Hell, this is the part that got me;

Quote I thought it was one of those ambulances they use to pick people up but did not think it was a real ambulance.

maybe it's just me, but I don't care if it's my next door neighbor asking me or the dang pope....if i'm blocking a car in and they ask me to move, i'll get off my hind parts and move the dang car. Is it that hard to be a decent human being these days?
I do it fast, slow, hard, and easy. I sometimes even do it in the woods. Yeah, I'm a runner.

Two comments:

The ambulance should not have been parked where it could be blocked unless there's absolutely no choice.

The woman should be charged with involuntary manslaughter, or whatever its equivalent is in Britain.

Sometimes you just really don't want people parking in your driveway.

I'm sure you've done a call or two to a house.   If it's a really long driveway, that necessitates parking in it. If it's a short one, then yes, you can park in the road. Seeing as how it was a shared driveway, and looking at the pictures, it necessitated parking in it.

But a driver has to be completely mentally retarded to go "Ohh.. an ambulance with it's lights on. Ok I'll park infront of it"

I was thinking the ambo should've just peeled out through her yard, but then I remembered they had a man with severe heart trouble in the back and there are some big honkin bushes all around.

Read the article... there appears to be shrubbery on either side.

Also, being in the back of the truck or on the cot and going over the smallest of bumps is not a comfortable thing.

looks like the driver could have cut through behind the middle shrub into the other side of the drive. bumps may be uncomfortable, but its better than being dead.

If it wasn't one of those Wussyized little European ambulances, they probably could have at least pushed the car out of the way.

There's nothing to indicate that she caused his death in the article.

I'm sure if they considered her actions to be that serious, they would charge her.  She was being stupid, yes.  But there's every chance that what she did had no effect on the man's health.

In dealing with cardiac patients, a delay of 10 minutes from care is enough to significantly reduce the likeliness of survival.

The entire body is at risk, and different parts die at different times. As time goes by, the body gets exponentially worse when starved of oxygen and nutrients. Because of that, the effect of a 10 minute delay is devastating in this situation.

Its the UK...

You know, "universal Health care"... and all.

The only reason this is a story is because the man was "waiting" in a driveway instead of "waiting" to see a doctor at the hospital... Either way, he would have died...

I can't wait until we get universal health care here too. Yippee. Long lines at the emergency room, and people outraged at the lack of service...
They tremble at my name...

Yes... the woman was sent by the UK government to stall the ambulance because it costs too much for quick transport.
