My A-5 has an X-core 8 stage expansion chamber, a JJ ceramic 12" barrel, an E-grip.  I am pretty satisfied with it's performance, but it is rather loud.  I have heard good things about the 32 degrees whisper barrel.

I was told that tippmann's have a louyd action, regardless of how quiet the barrel is.  Is this true, and if so what can I do about it?

Also here are some of the improvements I plan to make to my A-5, I would to get some opinions on them.

Pro-seal bolt kit

Starfire bolt

Madman spring kit

Polish the internals

32 degrees whisper barrel (maybe)

Thanks for your input.

I think you are going to get that sound regardless of what you buy
but whatever you do don't try to make a silencer or something b/c
they're illegal unless you get some kind of permit.

I would stick with the j&j, its a good barrel, i love mine! I see you plan on polishing your internals, i plan on doing the same for my gun! Your plans look good to me. Maybe get a 2x trigger also. Good luck

Look at the insides before polishing- make sure they need it first. The reason it's so noisy is because of the pressure difference inside the gun (from your air source) and the air outside the gun. I'd suggest making a device that opens when the bolt stirkes the ball, then closes, then opens again toward the outside when the bolt returns to the starting position. Or, get a low pressure kit and reg.

If you're going to get a whisper barrel then you shoul'd know that it slightly reduces the velocity of the balls. All the holes it has allows the CO2 to escape before reaching the end of the gun making for a quieter shot but also one with less velocity.

Stick with the stock internals.  The others are just marketing gimmicks and may actually hinder the performance of the marker.
