Yeah, to keep you from accidentally shooting someone. One of the most important pieces of equipment you have is barrel condom or barrel plug.

^^ yep, it's just to prevent you from pulling the trigger and shooting someone on accident. what Benjichang said, it's one of the most important pieces you own.

Yeah, the barrel condoms and plugs have the same function. I personally like the condoms better because I've seen accidents where the gun is shot with the plug on and it actually is shot out of the gun. This could be dangerous as well, resulting in someone getting injured. The condoms are less likely of flying off and softer for a rare case that it would happen.

I think they are better than plugs because you don't have to put them inside of the barrel and cause scratching if there is any dirt on them.

Yeah. The little elastic string keeps the condom in place. IF you do shoot your gun, the paintballl can drag the condom (also called barrel cover and barrel sock) almost all of the way off, but the ball won't escape.

i hate noobs i was at a field last month some little kid shot his gun with a plug that had only one o ring shot off and hit my friend, push the safety in too
