I'm not sure if many people know about this, non of my friends did and they are all into gaming, but they are coming out with GTA 5 (title is in the subject as you can see, or not)  I don't know much about it, but I heard that they based it on a real city, with real stores, roads, things like that, and there are several hundreds of miles that you can drive through.  If this is old news i will just delete this so instead of being possibly flamed, just say thats "thats old" and I will delete it, saving me a little bit of embarassment.

That info was released in April. Nevertheless the game is going to be pretty cool. An upgrade in graphics from Vice City would be nice, along with more missions. I sure hope it isn't based in the 80's like GTA:VC was. Lambos and Ferraris would be fun.

all of the GTA's have been based on real cities...vice city was Miami i beleive....San Andreas is California...yes i know california isnt a city but im not sure which they are basing it off....and number 3 was New York City...not sure about the other 2

by basing it on a city i mean with the actually streets, like basically they based it off of a map, i think they just changed the name of the city

anyway, it isnt gta 5, its gta 4... vice city was GTA 3.5 slightly better graphics, but all the same bugs as 3

i dont understand why everyone thinks GTA is so great... it is buggy as heck, has no real story.... but somehow, the ability to go on a killing spree makes up for that. you could do the same thing in state of emergency, yet everyone thought that game sucked... whats the deal?

 I read in PS2 magazine after GTA:VC had been out for a while that the new one would have Online. it would also make full use of the cell phone and friends by alowing you to hire hackers and drivers and hitmen and the sort. I dunno if the did that in this one, because it came out fairly quickly, but that would be awesome. In early April, you could reserve a copy at GameStop for $5. I think I'll just wait it out at an 24 hour Wal-Mart.

I think all of the GTA games are just the most incredibly stupid game series ever.... They aren't even games..... they're just... stupidness put together into a game format.

The GTA series is a series for people who think they are gamers but really aren't....

It's like a game for posers. Kind of like how all that "independent" stuff is for poser skateboarders... same concept.

And guess who the game appeals to? All the posers like me that dont really get into gaming because they dont have time, but want something that they can play, get into, but not have to spend 4-5 hours beating one section of the game because they are missing one little clue. GTA is my favorite series just because of that. I dont have to be hardcore into it, i can always have fun, if i get bored, i can play the game and kill some people, and i dont have to ever follow one story line like in halo where you either do this or the game progresses none.

 

EDIT: oh and i made a thread about this a while back, like in april or early may when the news first became public, but that was a while ago, so meh.
