i heard that if you polish your rear bolt of a 98c your gun will get a tad bit quieter and will be more efficient. has n/e body done this and if so what exactly does it do?

How would polishing the rear bolt affect how the air makes noise coming out of the gun?
But it can't hurt. Why spend all the time polishing your internal receiver halves just to have a rough back bolt sliding against them. I polished mine, just be sure to have it oiled up nicely or it will be more prone to rust. |

How do you do it? Wet emery paper?? I have an A-5 and was able to easily remove the rear slide but not there was one in front that did not come out.

^^i just talked to my local paintball dealer and the guy that i talked to said he used to play for tippmann effect and that polishing the rear bolt wasn't necessary and that it will most likely ruin it! he said that they tried polishing the sear and everything else to try and get the trigger pull lighter. so now that i kno that im not going to polish my rear bolt...i bought a mad man spring kit instead and have already noticed a big difference! peace! |

you could have jsut used a trigger spring and a small rubberband to help you out there almost.

what about using the lighter rear bolt from the lp kit? you can order individual parts from tippmann so what if i were just to order the rear bolt and not get the whole kit?
