Dang...

Leg is busted up and now...my car needs anywhere from a $100.00-$1,500.00 repair job!

First, I'm going to buy a new tranny filter and pray to God that that is the only problem. Worst case I buy a new tranny...

Anyone replaced the filters? Broncos have terrible trannys anyway but dang!

Look on the bright side:
You can get a can of Sam's Choice Rootbeer for just 30 cents at Walmart.

Do yourself a favor and replace it with a manual transmission.

Manual Trannys are a pain in the arse to put in a vehicle that was built for an Auto Trans. But dont get me wrong it can be done with lots of time, money and patience.

Something I'd rather not use...

I'd have to change out so much crap, it wouldn't even be worth it.

One more question: it seems as if the tranny warms up, it runs fine and catches in Drive. Could I just let it sit there and warm up in park or would I have to put a load on the tranny to get it to warm up?

Heh. I thought the transmission was blown on my car...
I changed the air filter, and it began to work just fine.
That's probably not the case for your Bronco, but it might be. Try that first.

FI,

If you have an AOD, adjust your TV cable... the procedure is in the chiltons manual... its real easy... that could help the problem....

If you have a C6, there is a vaccuum module on the back of the transmission that is NOTORIOUS for going bad... you can try replacing that as well...

Have you checked your fluid levels? I did my trans filter last year... do yourself a favor and get some spray tack... it comes in a aerosol can, it might be called like gasket tack... don't overtighten the pan bolts either... hand tighten till you see the gasket "squish".... bring the car up to operating temperature... retighten...

The C6 transmission is the best ford transmission ever, its hardly terrible... and the C6 for the 351W are sought after for offroading... the AOD i've had troubles with... but its all hydraulic which is a benefit over the electronic ones in newer cars...

I prefer .223 over .68

I see the problem already.....you have a FORD "fix or repair daily" or "found on road dead" or "f'd over rebuilt Dodge"....get a Chevy man!

So what seems to be the major problem.  When you start the truck up and put it in gear nothing hapens Right?

If so does it move at all when you give it a little gas?

Try to describe the problem in more detail

Also Join and post the problem on this site as there is a PLETHORA of good info and Knoledgeable BII and Ranger Guys on the there.
