Our crew have been experimenting with ‘deflective body armour’ . If a paintball doesn’t explode then we carry on…..so body armour that’s soft and absorbs the energy on impact results in the balls not exploding. Its work with limited success but weve only tried it out in the back garden !

Some places will consider it cheating. I think the NPPL has a section in their rules about clothing designed to cause bounces.
It depends where you play, and what kind of games you play. If you're doing scenario/SWAT team style missions, body armor would be neat. If you're playing regular woodsball or speedball, don't get to attached to it: you won't be able to wear it everywhere. I'd consider it cheating on speedball or regular woodsball fields, but a scenario game and/or urban combat games would make the idea really neat. |

Body armor is truly a waste of money, whats the real point of having it if the ball doesnt explode on contact, the only protection thats realy needed in the sport of paintballing is a mask, gloves and some instances knee pads or a cup (mainly used fer woodsball).

Why gloves....well I guess you dont play hard enough not to notice that yer hands are subject to get scratches, recieve wooden slivers and I also guess you dont like to keep yer hands warm and clean at the sametime...or better yet, let someone shoot you inbetween yer fingers, then you'll know why.

Sure, go ahead and use soft body armor. But also remember that experienced players will take that into account, so don't complain when you only get hit in the head. |

I personally think "armor",chestpads, ext. kinda take the fun out of paintball, whats the point if you dont feel anthing, i agree some of the times they hurt, but most of the time they dont.

No offence or nothin but that was stupid, i agree, what is the fun of it if ur not gunna get out, if ur gunna win all the time whats the fun of it, the challenge makes it fun, and i have been shot in the worst places possible, beleive me, i have, and i swear to god it doesnt hurt but like half a second, one of my friends played me i had a cheap walmart gun and he and an impy and he got about an inch away from me and shot me 3 times and i was like are u planning on shootin me anytime soon and i was wearing a t-shirt with no sleeves and 2 of the shots were in my arm the other was on my shoulder, u dont need body armour at all but like i said while ago, no offence

My buddy wears a chest protector real loose, and you have to bunker him to get a ball to break on it. Not cheating but using something beyond its intended use. Something that is purposely used to cause bounces might be looked at badly. Takes the fun out the sport.
