This was adressed to Mike, the owner of countypaintball.com, in a previous thread.

I’m sorry for putting down your store and driving away business. I think your inventory is way over-priced. There are many items that you sell at a high price. Here are a few items that are over-priced----eggII, your price=$82, pbgear=$60--Icd BKO, your price=$311 (as of now, its on sale…usually its around $320) pbgear=$299--revolution w/ xboard, your price=$56, pbgear=$45--, impulse w/ vert reg, your price=$443, pbgear=$425--68/45 crossfire hp tank, your price $200 (on sale lol), pbgear=$185--68/30 crossfire tank, your price=$162 (on sale too ,lol), pbgear=$154 . That is just to name a few items. As for paintball gear’s customer service, it is excellent. I always receive my package 4 days after the day I order it. I always get what I ask for and everything is in great condition. I can not seem to find any of these “coupons” on your site. If they are local coupons then expect to get only local business. Will a coupon make up for a $15 difference on an item such as the nitrogen tank mentioned above? I think not. Also, your selection is limited. You need to carry more items. In my opinion, there is clearly no reason to order from countypaintball.com when you can order from paintball gear.com and get everything at a better price. I’m sure Mike gives great customer service but so does paintballgear.com. I’ve been ordering from them for quite a long time and I have never had a problem with them. Many of my friends also order from paintballgear.com and they never seem to have any problems either. How can countypaintball.com even compete with other industrial giants with its high prices?  Will customer service make up for that $15 difference?   To be honest, I think county paintball is a rip. Im sorry to put your store down Mike, but I’m just telling you the truth. Sometimes the truth hurts.

County is a great site, but I voted for PBgear because the selection is bigger.

I tried to show some sympathy for him.  I didn't want to seem like such a bad guy.  Im just speaking the truth.  Maybe this thread will help him realize that he does not have great prices.  I am posting this here to try and show people that his prices aren't so "great".  People think he has such low prices.  They obviously haven't shopped around.

You can do this comparison with any two stores and make whichever one you want the winner.

On the items you mentioned, PbG is cheaper. I'm sure I could find at least a dozen items where County is cheaper and reverse the whole thing. I could also find products that County sells and pbg does not.

On some items, it's true that we can't compete with their prices. They sell the item for a buck or two over what we pay wholesale. That's because they're big enough to buy the quantity that gets them larger price breaks. On Tippmann products (which would probably appeal to most people on this forum) our prices are the same or even better.

As a smaller store, we have to accept that we can't compete on all items. We just do the best we can and provide the best customer service we can as well. We can add a little more of a personal touch. Have you ever chatted on a forum with the owner of paintballgear? I've never seen him around.

I don't know of any tax breaks I'm getting that they aren't. I'm probably in a lower bracket because I have a lower income. Other than that, I haven't seen any breaks. The small business man is not getting any hand outs.

I voted County all the way. I know Mike and Ive have to say if it wasnt for him and countypaintball, I wouldnt be in to the sport as I am. His customer service is beyond anything Ive experienced. Now maybe its because Ive been playing at his field for over 3 years or whatever, but Ive seen him be the same guy to me as to someone who just showed up. Bottomline is that Mike is the man and I support him. If im looking for something in particular I go to Mike, if I ask him about it and his doesnt have it, then I ll look elsewhere, but until then County is the first place I check.

I wanna know why are you singleing Countypaintball out. There are tons of stores out there that are more expensive than Pbgear, but yet County is the only store actually mentioned. If you dont like Countypaintball.com don't shop there, but dont single him out because of that. I mean is it really neccessary. You dont see county starting polls about other stores. Unless you work for pbgear and realize that you cant compete with Mike as a person and feel a need to bash him. Bottomline: This is the man's business and how he makes a living, and while you certainly have the right to your opinion, did you have to start a poll about it. Childish and immature. Id like to invite you out to play with us on Thurs nights in the spring. After meeting County, I can guarantee you'd change your mind.

 He sure does. On his site, its down on the left. It will say gift certificates. Then just click on buy when the menu scrolls down.

Also county usally gives out Coupons so that saves you even
more... for instance just say you wanted to buy a new BKO...

301$ + County Coupon(RC3 = 25$ off over 300$) = 275$

I have never even Seen a Site even sell a BKO For 275$ Ever...

So infact PBgear is ripping you off...

Also I've never even seen the owner of pbgear even adress his
customers... Mike on the other hand Talks to his customers,
Helps them any way they can.... You get what you pay for...
County gives you that local Proshop Feel with the online
prices... There is only one other site like that but he doesn't
adress his customers like Mike does...

Also, at pbgear you HAVE to order online with a Credit Card, in
which Mike gives you over 4-ways to ship... and for the
common joe like myself doesn't want to waste his time with a
Credit Card County takes money orders which saves me but
loads of money from buying from my local shop for an Arm &
Leg...
