lol, well they make barrels depending on the gun you have, not by a certain size thread. different barrels are good for different things. before you get one, you have to figure out your playing style, meaning what type of paintball you like to play.

Flatline for woodsball. I would only suggest buying the flatline if you are going to buy any Tippmann barrels because i heard the other Tippmann barrels suck. Some people in this forum like the j&j ceramic while there are those that like the bigshot.

dude yeh most ppl say flatline , yeh get that if you lay mostly woods, but if u do a lota rec ball just get a smart parts teardrop, if u dont like that theres other choices like jj ceramic, lapco bigshot, cp 1 piece, or if u want a huge upgrade the FREAK kit will be perfect since u can match ur paint but its ur preference so go to paintballgear.com and click barrels, then smart parts then the teardrop or progressive or all american and find u the 98 custom threaded one.
later and i use a smart parts all american |

They are made like that to exactly fit your gun. If you buy smaller ones then it won't fit on your gun because it's made for a different one.

^yeah but the only purpose i can see for buying an adapter is if u already have a barrel that doesnt fit and you want it to fit, or if your friend has a barrel that doesnt fit your gun and you would like to use. if you dont have any barrels in the first place, then theres no need for an adapter because u can just buy the right kind of barrel |

if you have $$$ go with the Dye ultra-lite. The thing is expensive.. but since xmas is coming up u can always ask for it. thats wut i did last year. The ultra-lite is extremely accurate, easy to clean, and unlike alot of barrels when it is dirty it still performs well. also it is light (hence its name). Some ppl say because it is light it is fragile. I play speedball with mine and woodsball, and in woodsball i am always runnign around diving and running my barrel into a tree and alls i have is a lil scratch in the paint, but who cares its a custom 98 not an angel. So from my experience it is dead accurate, light, easy to clean, and pretty tough for the material it is made out of. O i almost forgot.. they also have the 2 peice ultra-lite, makes it even easier to clean and stuff.

IMHO the flatline is overpriced and not really worth it. If you play woods ball just get a decent 14 inch barrel (ie bigshot, J&J ceramic, smart parts, etc). If you play speed ball try a 10 or 12 inch. I like a 12 or 14in for all around play. I use a 14 in progressive now only because it matches my gun, gets the job done I guess.. |

a 12 in. seems like a perfect size barrel, you may not notice any difference between it and a 14in. and if u do then it wont be that much at all. ok ill just say this, if you want the best barrel for the money, get either the Lapco bigshot or the J&J ceramic. Also, all of smartpart's barrels are good.

Aight, flatlines are worth it as long as you have enough common sense to program the average VCR. But they are expensive. The JJ ceramic is a great barrel and can be found for $30. Smart Parts teardrop[$35], SP All American[$70] and the Evil Driver[$55] are all good barrels. I wouldn't go bigshot because of the noise factor and the fact an Evil Driver is only $5 more.

Why the Flatline is so Expensive is becasue it has NO competition... if
they did I'm sure Tippmann would drop the price down to 70-85$
But a 4-piece Empire kit would work awsome, because it has all the basic bore sizes to match small, medium, and large paint... But if your not into barrel kits then go with a 12" Bigshot, they do wonders at Rec. Fields when you cant use your own paint... Empire 4-piece kit(Click this link) 12" Lapco Bigshot(Click This Link) |
