Homemade Smoke Grenade

hey boys... dont know about you all but i think smoke can be a real handy tool to be used on a pball field. Hear is my recipe for achieving this idea:

1)Salt Peter(found at local Pharmacies,Grocerie Stores,Hardware Stores, Etc)

2)Sugar

3) Film Canisters that you have laying around or go pick up a few from Walmart or some film place.

4)String

5)Candle Wax

6) Black Powder

First off, prepare the wicks by cutting about 2 inches of String for every film canister you have. Then Melt the candle wax and role the string in it. Then Take the black powder and roll the string w/ candle wax in it. Instant wick.

Poke wholes in top of Canister lids with nail or other shard device(Drill, etc.).

Mix Salt Peter(Potassium Nitrate) with Sugar with the ratio of 3:2(like 3 tbls of Salt Peter and 2 tbls of Sugar) into a shallow cooking pan. Heat on LOW,( DO NOT SUBJECT MIXTURE TO OPEN FLAME; KEEP THE POT ON LOW OR ELSE SMOKE BOMB MIXTURE WILL DO ITS JOB)stirring often and wait for carmalization... it will become goo like and thick... Know pour the mixture in the canisters adding wicks quickly while mixture is still loose. Place cap, pulling Wick through the top. WALAAA!!! Instant Smoke Grenade! BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU THROW THE SMOKE NADES!!! BURNS EXTREMELY HOT... but very effective and smoke is safe... so have fun and hope this helps!!!

This isn't the best thing to let 13 year olds experiment with.

No need for black powder, the saltpeter can be used on the wick.

I know exactly what potassium nitrate is capable of.... I think i would know a little about it since i gave directions to use it... dumb @#$. If kids are stupid enough to use as its not intended... go ahead. they will learn real quick! You pathetic cronic worriers drive me insane!!! Use common sense and the rest will take care of itself.

if you make them do not put the tops on the film canister. and dont use film canisters. use toilet paper tubes.

it takes less than a candle flame to butn one of those canisters. i plan to use allot of mettle in my disign. but ill need to be conservitive on the waight for conveniance sake. Hay can any one get me a max temp these thinks will hit i can handle anything under 2000 degress without to much trouble but if its that hot ill eat my barrel condum. id say max 500 but i dont know i havent ever tried one.
