98 custom all the way. it is totally customizable unlike the a-5. you can upgrade it to shoot 25bps, and have accuracy more than the a-5. 98 custom rocks!!!!!!!! |

First of all the 98 custom stock sucks, if you want it to be half decent you got to buy like 300 dollers of upgrades. I was gona get a 98 but i decited on the a-5 because it already has a fast bps. I will admit that the a-5 is a co2 eater but you can get a cheap regulator for it. The a-5 pretty much isa 98 that has been upgraded alot so in the long run a a-5 will save you money. i geuss it really depends on how long you intend to keep your gun. |

right! and starting march wicked air sports is comeing out with a new board for the A-5 E-Grip that wil probally let it fire 30BPS..... think about that. their comeing out with one for the E-Bolt too but the E-bolt is like $260 and then u will need to spend like $100 on a hopper to keep up with it. A-5 E-grip is only $125 and the board will be $99. And you wont need to buy an electronic hopper... Listen to your expert |

What??? The 98C is MORE upgradeable than the A-5? Try actually knowing something before making a comment like that. http://www.opsgear.com is one of many examples. Have you put a fake mag on your 98C? How about a grenade launcher? Can you move your foregrip? The 98C and the A-5 use the same internals, with a few diiferences. The A-5 is updated internals from the 98C. Last time I checked, Windows XP was better than Windows 95. Tippmann has stopped producing the E-bolt for the 98C. And a new gun is coming out (WAS board forums snuck out that snippet) to push the 98C further into the history book. You can get a 98 Custom (the 98 means 1998, altough the 98C was released a bit later), but an A-5 will make you much happier. The 98C is on the verge of being pushed like the M98. The M98's were stocked in a warehouse for years, than Tippmann wanted to clear that warehouse out (wonder why?) and put them up for sale. Wal-mart dived in with its sharp talons of the cheap american ideal and purchased all of them. Those are now available after being off the market for a number of years. And I guarantee those guns need oil, and Wal-mart did not stop to oil them before re-packaging them. |

You might wanna look a lil more in Opsgear.com LordJovian, the guys have been working on more upgradeable mods fer the 98c by demand from the people that use the 98c (like myself), I put up a thread during the weekend on what opsgear.com has released. http://www.tippmann.com/players/forum/wwf77a/forum_posts.asp ?TID=123695&PN=4 As fer which is better between the 2, I still say the 98c, not because of the quality (which both markers have), the 98c has less parts to contend wit compared to the A5 (look at the parts manual and see it fer yerselves) which is double on what the 98c has internally as well as externally....to the thread starter, I suggest you look at them both and make yer own decision on which one you want to use....Ive said this a few times already, its really based on personal preference, but again both markers have the same quality, theyre both reliable, dependable and almost indestructible....as fer the 98c being pushed further into history, I doubt that very much, not everyone can afford a bonestock A5. You can't change the hopper on the A-5. The A-5 will only reach up to 15 BPS max. That pisses me off. They're equally customizeable.
