Hey, that's my second year of paintball and I want to buy a ... good marker, but I don't know if it's better to take the tippmann 98 custom or the spyder rodeo?? And wich one do the more distance(without the flatline)??? p.s. I don't play a lot of speedball, I play in the forest |

Better to take the 98c.by far the tippmann will do more
distance.spyders are made for speedball mainly and therfore don't need
to shoot as far as us woodsball players.

They both shoot the same distance, all guns do.
But in the woods your gun is probebly going to take some damage, get a tippmann. |

the tippmann has more upgrades and is much more durable. and a spyder rodeo is one little step up from the spyder victor

Tippmann is very reliable, my friends got the spyder rodeo and it locks up at least twice a game. My tippy hasn't locked up once.

Spyders have much more upgrades, and the Rodeo is not a step up from a Victor since the Rodeo is lower pressure and has a regulator and other features. Go with the 98 because its lower maintenance and better made. Bounty, there is probaly something wrong with the gun if it does that.

The 98c is to be honest the most popular marker out there right now. They are sold by the big retailers like Walley World. They are also the choice of most fields for rentals (M98). They are normally the first marker recomended to a new player by field owners. Not to mention they are a favorite among us scenario players, as well as the A5.
I feel sure that the after market parts will be there for some time. Now I have owned a Spyder, it was an old compact. I prefer my Tippmann's hands down over the Spyders. It is just hard to beat a Tippmann for quality and durability. I think the thing with Spyders are you can get more options on them stock, and they are cheap. Which I wouldnt mind having one for a back up or a speedball marker. |

Definatley go for the 98. Perfect for both woods and speedball. Its much more reliable and durable than a spyder in my eyes. Also has a lot more upgrades thatn a spyder.

I asked the same question on the kingman forum and he answer me this : Well seeing how you posted this on a spyder forum, the most common answer will be rodeo. The distance question is asked a lot and both guns will shoot roughly the same distance if they are at the same velocity. My personal opinion would be the Spyder Rodeo because of several reasons. You can shoot faster with the Rodeo but the Tippmann may be more durable. If you like to throw your guns around and dive a lot, a tippmann is your friend. But if you are planning on hitting the tournament scene in a year or so, a Rodeo would be the better choice. If upgrades are in the guns future, I would definetly go with the Rodeo. Are you agree with this?? |

He's asking if he will be able to get upgrades or will the custom stop being produced.
Tippmann is making a new line of guns. I dont know if they will keep the 98 custom parts available, but i bet they will for a while. |

Well, anything Tippmann makes as far as after market parts for the 98, another after market company also makes it.
I had heard rumors about a new marker/s, but not heard a positive answer. A new line up is fine, but it is going to be hard to replace the 98's. I mean they have to be making a killing off of them. Most popular marker sold is the 98. Most widely used rental, is the 98. Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt the 98's still out selling the A5??? It would be foolish to do away with it, in a buisness since. |

Spyders are the worst guns ever, I havent liked a single one of them.
