theres nothing dangerous when it comes to modifying shells.  hell, bounty hunters use to use nickels and dimes in shotgun shells in the old west anybody would know this if they read a few western books.

when i modify mine i don't pack as musch stuff as i can in them.  we take half the powder and bb's out so the shot isn't as loud.  we use them to shoot stray cats in the evening.  i don't know whether it's considered illegal or not, but it probably is. 

B) horrifically dangerous-never add stuff to shells- false.  the shell is nearly a containment device for the powder and shot.  but if you don't know what your doing........ then well it probably is.  you do it too, so your actually being hippocritical.  *cough*.......PaInTbAlLs!

be cool - funny!  you seem like a 12-13 year old that thinks they know what there talking about...  if you get around the right people  you usually learn a few tricks and skills that a average city slicker probably wouldn't know about.  i know a lot about guns and when someone starts saying false stuff........ well it burns me.  so don't do it.  another thing, if you don't know how to do it.... then don't!

I live on a farm and I'm surrounded by 100 acres of hardwoods not counting the few thousand we own.  So that speaks for it's self and I don't need 50 posts to tell me that I can farm and shoot better than you can.

There not novels either... I read alot of history books on the West.

Air pockets won't affect your shot, but actually create a greater blast.

those shotguns were blackpowder, with no real shell-black powder creates much less barrel pressure than smokeless powder...- Not exactly true... theres alot of varying smokeless powders out there and some have the same power of blackpowder.

I know about the wad and always check... never had any trouble.  Again I know what I'm doing... but for the one's who don't... they might have some trouble like you.

C) a weaker load of powder and a larger load of shot means lowered velocity, lowered to such a degree that the inertia is almost crippled...- true... but we weren't going for a high velocity round, just trying to quiet the blast... that doesn't matter to me.

D) how the hell are you removing half the powder and still resealing the shell safely/half assed acceptably? -  The powder left is certainly enough to discharge and clear the barrel ad still make it 75 feet outward.

yeah, im a scout too, and i agree with darur, the ropes will weaken over time
