For awhile now, my local paintball shop has overpriced things. Not to a noticeably large extent, but they have been over pricing everything. The last straw came yesterday when I was at the shop and I saw a BKO on the wall...for 325 dollars... My parents went through hell for a BKO for christmas and the shop totally screwed them and sold it to them for 380 bucks...all it did was break down...never shot a ball, just chopped, thats all it ever did...chop chop chop. It leaked consistantly, and I got about 500 shots per full on a 45/4500 tank... I was really dissapointed that the store that I have come to like a lot has stooped as low as to take my bko back, send it into ICD, get it fixed (i did it a number of times, came back with a different problem each time), and then put it back on the wall for 325 bucks. That is poor buissness. That gun is only worth 280 at the most and they have even said it is worth less, they are only hoping someone will buy it out of stupidity. I've always been a "support you local buisness" kind of guy. But that was, like I have said, the LAST straw. So, I'm sad to say that I'm buying all my equipment from ebay and other online dealers. While I'll miss the people, it serves them right for poor buisness ethics and not being able to give the right price for the right stuff...i mean, they were selling dye lock-lids for nine dollars each last time i was in there, and thats absurd. The purpose of this post is to find out if any of you have had the same problems. Because I am really, really dissapointed. |

Yea my local store is starting to bug me. I walked in, told him I had
an A-5 and was looking to upgrade. He grabs some POS Odessey off the
wall, and tells me it can do 30bps easy. Oh, and 5 bucks per n2 fill
isn't cool either, since, despite having a 4500 fill thing, he never
goes above 3500.

i dont mid my local shop YET. they have pretty good prices(60$ for a case of marbs) they were able to fix my mag in under 2 days and the guy gave me a complete detailed report on wut was wrong with it. he even told me how to fix it if it ever leaked again. BUT i will never buy a gun or any upgrades from there. I know theres better prices on the net for the big stuff. but for the little stuff, the shop is pretty good.

I've been a few times to my local shop.
Never going back again. I had them install some stuff on my 98 and it took the "Shop Tech." about an hour or two to install and expansion chamber and vertical bottle adapter on my gun. They also charge a lot for C02 fills and upgrades. They had a DM4 on the wall for, I believe, $1,975. ![]() |

I love my local shop. The owner puts all the money he makes there into the shop and field to make it better. It's prices are comparable to online and somtimes cheaper. He sells alot of things at his cost, with no markup. He also will install upgrades for free, and he does good work. I love my local shop. |

Well I'm glad someone else had something like that happen to them. I am suspended 2 weeks from my paintball field I work/play at/live at(for the weekends) What happened? That next morning I wake up at about 8 and go and check on my rentals, tanks, etc. I see this older lady in there who "works" there but is married to my boss's wifes brother. She is 43, blonde and nasty. I see her filling a compressed air tank. We use 5 scuba tanks to fill compressed air because our compresser hasn't arrived yet. Well for anyone who has not filled compressed air, you slide a quick disconnect over the fill nipple and clamp down the QD so it won't blow your tank off. Will she didn't clamp down the QD and she blew the tank off the line at about 3000 psi. I will let you guys think of the results. She was in there the whole day filling tanks and sending out rentals. Then I made a poor decision. I gave my dad my ref jersery/walkie and took my shocker, pack and hit the field to play a game. My batteries are dead in my halo. That just pisses me off a little more. Then I rushed this one kid who does work out there only because I can shoot 3 balls at a time. We have that "surrender" rule, only because with 80+ ppl playing, little kids here and there, honestly who would want a little kid to get hurt? But this rule is for everyone. So I slide into the other side of his bunker, he shot me while I was on my way there but I did not feel it. I slid into his bunker and I get shot about 80 or so times while he is screaming at me to move. Well I don't mind getting shot once or twice up close like that because thats the risk I took. But when someone empties half a hopper on you and they know that they are not hitting anything but the person who is not more than 2 feet in front of you then you might get a little up set. Well I lost it, I was already so pissed off that just set me off. I stand up and I am screaming at him that you cant shoot within 5 feet and you can't over shoot someone like that. I'm livid, all you can hear is the F word over anything else. I reach down to pat him on the back and tell him he needs to get off. He is a ref, he works there, he can't cheat. Truth is, I was so pissed off I picked him up and moved him. He was laying down shooting and I picked him up by his neck and pulled him to his feet. My boss is on the other side of the netting and watched the whole thing. He pulls me into his office and just goes off.. But the kid I just about killed, no one likes him. So everyone was a slight bit happier when they found one I nearly knocked him out. If you have seen the end of 300 fps, it was a little like that. I can't even go to the house w/ his family and hang out with them. lol. PM for more details and crap like that. Anyways, sucks to see your proshop has crazy prices. That is a dissapointment. |

The local shop here was way overpriced. The only decent thing is was $3 for a 20 oz fill. Maybe thats why they went out of business.

Well what really made me mad is that I have been told by my boss, his wife and every other employee that I do one hell of a job in there w/ the rentals and tanks. |

My locals "know" what happens when they start to overprice stuff...
hehehe... ah... good ole County Hoodie, and easily manipulated
children...
But, my locals aren't to bad, a little dumb but meh? who isn't, they can gut a fish faster then I can unscrew a screw on my 98c... so i guess there expirenced fish owners... But there Starting to lean towards SmartParts, and WGP now. The only Fish they have left is there Evo's, and 2 omens. There wanting to flex the muscles and see if they can work a deal with WDP, but... there whole sale sux... I know they got a contact in NPS, but they never seem to go threw them often, unless its for a special order... |
