Retarded.
Seriously, dont you people who purchase these things realize that once it goes off, you just got busted for speeding? In order for it to detect the radar the cop has to point the gun at your car, meaning he sees how fast youre going, then the detector goes off. It amazes me that people buy these things thinking they will get them out of speeding tickets. Idiots. |

Thats not true, my dad has used one for a long time now. It picks up the radar from other cars as well, meaning when a cop is radaring a car half a mile up from you, it goes off, telling you to slow down. It has saved my dad from tickets a bunch of times. -me |

Yeah...
I don't even understand them... They go off like a bajillion times while I'm in a car with one and there is never a cop there. Cops don't even use speed radars that often. They can just judge how fast someone is going by looking at them and comparing the vehicles speed to other vehicles' speeds on the road. |

Also, they started using lasers to detect the speed instead, meaning your radar detecor is useless. Wait, a half mile up from where you are? Uhhhh, sure they can... Edited by NiQ-Toto |

It's true, maybe farther. My dad and I were coming back down the mountain from snowboarding, and the radar went off, so he slowed down. About 2 minutes later, sure enough, cop sitting along side the road with his radar gun out. -me |

Blue neon lights for cars are illegal, but they sell those in retail places. Same with the window tint stuff (as said above). "Water pipes" (aka bongs) are used for illegal purposes, but are sold under the half-lie that they'll be used for tobacco. If you word things correctly, you can get away with selling almost anything. |

It used to be that police didn't use the instant-on radars, and that they were on all the time regardless of if they were aiming it at you. If you get hit with radar, you can still slow down and mess up their reading.
Nearly all detectors now have laser warnings also, though if it picks it up you're probably already done. |

Hey! Don't knock on the fuzzbuster! The one I had in my Reatta saved my butt countless times. When I get my Z, I'm puttin' some $$$ into a radar detection system. There will be sensors in my front and rear bumpers and the main control unit will be mounted under my dash. Well worth the money if you ask me. *Note* Many companies that make radar/laser dectectors offer a "No Ticket Guarantee", which would be rather costly to the companies if their products didn't work. whoever said that there's go off all the time...construction vehicles
and the big doors at large factories emit frequencies that set them
off, but it probly has a light or seperate sound for each one and guys,
you can block the lasers just as easily, has anyone ever seen the
phantom? it doesnt scramble radar/lasers, it grabs them and sends back
a false reading, how cool is that?
