IDE cable
www.newegg.com has them. <EDIT> Vision, you bastard. Beat me to it. If you don't want to order online, just go to Best buy or *shudder*CompUSA and ask for IDE cable. Edited by PlentifulBalls |

Ok good they should have them at Bestbuy. I just got a new game
Brothers In Arms, and didnt realize it uses a DVD disk instead of a
CD. So i have to take out the DVD drive from my other computer.
Thanks for the help guys. On last question I think, are there special ones to connect a to cd drives? Edited by pntbl freak |

make sure you measure how much cable you need. and the cable you order should a little longer than you need.
how much do you need anyway, i've never seen anybody need more than the amount that comes with the hardware. |

^^^^They gave me just enought to get it from the hard drive to the cd
drive. But they didnt give me anything to connect the dvd drive
up also. I tried switching them, but the connector on the dvd
drive is a little higher so it doesnt connect.

Yup....a 40 pin IDE cable. You can get them that connect to one device or 2. I would go to a local store and ask them. If you bought online, the shipping would probably be more than the cable. Or just ask any of your friends that are into computers for an extra. I know I have 3 laying around my house somewhere. |

i think the arrow is pointing to the internal audio cable???it goes from the optical drive to the sound card.you may not even have to plug in the cable.i think its for analog sound.

^^^^ Not what I was talking about.
But I figued it out. My mother board only was one IDE connector, and my old Harddrive uses one of the IDE things and my cd drive uses the other. |
