Very Sore Throat...

For the past 3 or 4 days my throat has been bothering me (sore) but it has been more a minor nusance until now, its 12:50 in the morning and I am trying to fall asleep but just about 3 hours ago my "nusance" sore throat turned into a very, very sore throat, so much that I can't fall asleep. This is a big problem because i have to get up at 7:00am today. I've tryed herbal tee, chicken noodle soup, and menthoulated cough-drops and still my throat has not gotten any better. Anybody have any other idea of haw i can get rid of this damn sore throat? Thanks.

Sounds like strep throat. Go see a doctor.

Yea maybe in the afternoon today, but I was looking more for a quick fix.

I had a bad one not to long ago i took benadryl(sp?) and drank hot coco it the coco made it feel a little better and the benadryl made it stop long enough for me to fall asleep just take 1 every 4-6 hours (or whenever it hurts) should be fine

You'd better get that checked. If it is Strep throat, and you don't get it treated, you could get Rheumatic Fever, which is when your antibodies attack the lining of your heart. Bad news.

Cough Drogs always help me.  I had strep and it sounds like what your having.  Cough Drops helped the pain dramaticly(sp?).  I'd go to the doctor before it gets really bad.

I never liked goin to the doctor especially for sore throat (even when it was strep) he gave me a medecine that did nothing except take money out of my pocket the pain goes away just as quick without the medicine as it does with it

Try mixing about 2 table spoons of lemon juice, 2 of honey, 1/4 cup of whiskey, into a coffee cup, fill it the rest of the way with water, and then put in the microwave until its warm, stir, and drink up. Itll make you pass right out, and youll feel better.

Warm water and salt will help but I can never gargle it because its nasty.

Try some of the sore throat spray they sell that shoots to the back of your throat. Good stuff.

Then you take a hat and hand it on the wall. Drink the concocktion till you see two hats. My dad did that to me when i was little. Old family remedy. Helped me sleep when i was sick when i was very little.
