I tryed cloth and string but it all doesnt work and flips upside down. I have a flatline on my 98 and an apache hopper, I want to make or buy a sling that I connect to the gun and it doesnt flip upside down and is comfortable but easy access so I can slide it off at a moments notice. MY main deal is it turns upside down and Im afriad the lid if pop open or the sling will slip off when climbing a cliff ,and whoops there it goes down down down the cliff.

A gun sling from Wal-mart or sports store will do. They make ones that have a loop on the front to go around the barrel, then an adjustable strap end to attach to the sling ring on the end cap (A-5).
