They're all great guns but I would have to say to get the Proto. As I have said here before three of my team mates owned DM4/5s and one owned a Proto Matrix. The guys with the DM4/5s had constant problems with the membrane pads and the eyes. This unreliability led them to miss alot of practices. The Proto seems to be much more reliable..almost like a Tippmann. The guy said he barley ever mainained it. He claims he would throw it in his bag one weekend and then gas it up the next practice and it would work fine. I don't know if it wa true or not but comparing the two Nicks Proto was alot more reliable then the the two Dm4's and one Dm5. Also the Proto is smaller and a little lighter then the DM4/5.

Check my thread in the Great guns thread for Timmy tech help or PM me

Ive shot all matrixs, owned everything
but
the Proto.

The Proto is a great gun. Membrane pads can go out on the
DM4/5, usually if you do something to it yourself. I havent
EVER EVER had an Eye problem on any of my trixs, so this
problem seems to be huge minority. Stupid people cant
opperate guns smarter then them.

If the membrane goes out.. you dont need to miss practice,
thats stupid. You can simply jumpstart the marker if needed. I
have yet to have an issue with my DM5. Its been thru rain,
snow, mud, etc. I beat my guns up, and its keeping up with me
flawlessly.

Only thing you need to do to maintain a trix is lube the bolt..

Go Proto to save money, Go DM5 if you have the cash.

you already know my opinion A-5, if you can afford it, why not be the talk of the field with your Dmc? the performance of the others, and the size of a proto, plus, its a collectors item
