    Posted: 08 May 2005 at 12:47am
Hi everyone im getting a new tippman 98 custom for my b-day and i dont know what to do with the barrel i want to get 1 that can hit far away but isnt to long or loud. I already have an autococker with a flatline barrel system so i know how that 1 feels but i want to try out something else before i buy another flatline. If anyone has any ideas on what barrel would be the best let me know

Hi and welcome to the forum. Try an All American, J&J Ceramic,or a Lapco Bigshot.

And so you know for next time this should have went into Upgrades and Customizing. Thank you.

Well, the Flatline is the only one that can hit any further away than any of the others. All the rest, from an 8 inch Bigshot, to those rediculous 21 inch monstrosities, will shoot no further.

I've heard the cocker Flatlines suck.  For the 98c you can't shoot further than others unless you get a Flatline.  I'd get a 12" J+J Ceramic or a 10" - 12" Lapco Bigshot.  They're both supposed to be great barrels for great prices.  The Ceramic should run around $30 and the Lapco Bigshot at about $50.  You can find these at www.pbgear.com or www.countypaintball.com.
