The 68 Carbine is pretty much an earlyer model Pro-Carbine. Its exactly like the P/C except it doesnt have the whole shroud, and it uses the old valve. Other than that its not much differant than the later P/C meaning the upgrades are pretty much the same. You can pretty much only get them used off eBay.

well lets see. You can ghetto rig an R/T into it. And add an expansion chamber/ regulator to it.

You could also probly put SHI's pneu-bolt and safety stop into it.

The 68-Carbine is the 3rd gun in the Pro-series. (1st & 2nd being the Prolite & Pro-Am). Like all the Pro-series guns it's machined from bilett aluminum, the same end-cap and barrel threads as well(barrel threads are also common with the A5). Early versions used the same valve as the Prolite/Pro-Am but later verions used the first CVX valve. Foregrip/gaurd(though some don't have one) and feed elbow are seperate. The 68-Car was the first first Tippy to use a "45-Grip" lower reciever frame.

Upgrades are few and far between these days, at least for aftermarket direct installs. Last time I looked both the Vertical adapter and the D-feed(D-feed is 68-Car specific part) were still availible. If it hasn't already been done, you can replace the stock trigger spring with a M98(not 98C) or SL-68II trigger spring(same part). There are some cosmetic dressup kits around that will also install with little or no machining. After that it's adapting parts for other guns or custom fabrication.

If your an occational rec-ball player you'll be hard pressed to find a better gun. Low maintenance and high reliability. Keep the o-rings moist(not with petroleum based oils though), the moving parts clean, and the barrel clean and dry. A good idea is to stock up on small parts from Tippmann as well as few sits of backup o-rings and you'll have great gun for a long time.
