do want a pretty gun with alot of electronic crap that could probably break or do you want the ak-47 of the tippmann line of guns. the pro-carbine is almost unstoppable. you can drop it in the mud or sand and i would still shoot great and stay reliable. |

You should be more specific on what type of ball you playing...I assume
you playing bush. At our range there is 300 pro-carbines and all are
working day after day , and you should see the stuff they go through
!
All i can say... respect
. However the pro-carbine was mainly built for rental use.. you can see
that by the limited amount of upgrades for it. For private use I would
have to say the Custom pro cause you would look after it ( its not
hundreds of people using it every day ) & its upgradeable to
suite your purpose ( speedball , bush ). You cant go wrong with either
of them. Cheers ![]() |

They are both good markers. However, there are limited mods for the pro carbine. I'm not saying you can't mod the carbine, it's just harder to mod than the 98c. You can mod it just as well as the 98c you just have to do a lot more work.

While I myself haven't played with a pro-carbine, a friend of mine does, and I own the predecessor, the 68 carbine. I've owned a 98c, and can't see the Custom Pro being much different than 98c with upgrades on it. I do know that when we play around me, I'm pretty much in charge of keeping everyone's guns up and running. I miss games and such to do repairs. 80% of the players around me have some form of tippmann or another, and I've never had to repair a carbine in the field. I don't usually have to fix 98's either, they ARE durable, but if I get any tippmanns to work on, they're 98's and not carbines. My vote is for the carbine. |

I'd put my Carbines up to any A5 or 98 any day. The carbines are made
from a solid milled piece of aluminum while they 98's and A5's are made from two molded pieces of aluminum. Much more plastic is used in both the A5 and the 98's. If you want a tough gun that won't ever give up get the carbine. Keep in mind you can do EVERYTHING you can with a pro/carbine that you can do with a 98 (aside from an e-trig... as of now). Sure it'll take some work but the benefit is having a solid gun with mods that are custom. You can also buy a used pro/carbine or 68-carbine for under $80. You can be rest assured that a used pro/carbine will shoot just as good as when it was brand new (even if it was used as a rental). |
