Remove the sigs, Dont post the links. If I see anymore after three days, I'll start giving strikes. This is the second warning, forum rules are the first.

Gentlemen,
I am a mod over on the Spec Ops forum and do not work for them in any other way.
I'd like to appologize if any of our members have broken your rules. This is something we certainly do not encourage of our members.
Most members love the things Spec Ops has to offer and only want to share things like the stats tracker with your forum. Those that are pushing to have your members join are only in it for the freebies, most members, like myself, don't care about them.
Saddly not all of the Spec Ops members are members of the Spec Ops forum and I cannot discuss this with them personally. I will, however, bring the situation to the attention of our Admin staff.
I hope that the actions of a disrespectul few will not diminish the respect between our two camps.
Please feel free to contact me on the Spec Ops forum under the name Puzuma.

Having a link in your sig that leads to your personal brigade page should be allowed, because thats just showing off your page, not really advertising for the site itself.

_TT_ is talking about the sigs that say hey go to www.specopspaintball.com and type in recruiter #***** when signing up. Those are the ones where you're only in it for the free paint.

wait wait, I thought from the way it looked in _TT_ post that We couldn't have anything spec ops in our sigs, including Brigade page sigs.

I thought from what I was getting at that these guys where using brigade page sigs to get the free paint deal? thats what alll of us thought was happening at the Spec ops forums.... Could _TT_ or someone please clear this fully for me....

Spec Ops Admin has been informed of the situation and has stated they will contact Tippmann directly to discuss the situation.

Knight of Fire, as I stated in the Spec Ops Forum it's not a problem. It's only a problem if we choose to ignore it.

I dont believe that the free offer for a recruit was intended to be abused like this. The way I personally understood it is that if I'm talking with a friend about woodsball we'd let him know about the features Spec Ops has and should they say they are interested, then we give the ID# and the paint is a "thank you" for keeping the sport friendly.

The only links not allowed at Spec Ops are for Outwar and similar games. Again, I apologize for those that are pushing sign up on people.

Yes we can, as long as you promise us this......

No camp fires with us singing Kubaya, ok?

But Yea I mean I just want to know because I just got really confused, Is it against the rules to have something like the Brigade page like what I had as a sig or is it just against things like the the "Please go to spec ops web site and enter in ID # whatever"? just wondering thats all.

Answer me this, and I won't have such a hard time understanding why.

As stated above, the issue seems to be the "sign up and I get free paint!!" angle.

Seems pretty clear to me.

Also stated, I like Spec Ops Paintball, and see no problem with peopl linking to it, as they are pro-Tippmann and woodsball friendly.

I'm not against spec ops, but this was done before with sign up for free passes blah blah. If spec ops would like to get people to go to their site, through this forum, they should run it by tippmann.

I've sent people there myself before, they have cool products, I like their gear. But this is not my site and I was following the rules. If there is a problem with this, let me know.

The ban was set because certain people spamed, begged and tricked people into saying that they recruited them so they could get free paint from spec ops. but in doing so broke the rules of the forum and of Spec ops....

Hello everyone, i am a member from the spec ops forums and would like to say my piece.

Tippmann has a line of GREAT products, and specops sells quite a few of them, this in turn helps tippmann, i do also believe that the only reason the sigs arent allowed anymore is the free paint angle of the brigade pages. The majority of brigade members could literally care less about this, the people they recruit they do elsewhere, and dont use the paint deal, NOW there ARE a few people who are abusing the free paint and they should be dealt with accordingly, but i dont think tippmann forums should let "a bad apple spoil the bunch" if you get what im saying.

THis is just how i feel, and im sure most others feel this way as well.

with much regard,

  Sgt Allen

^what he said. i'm a member of specops and just about as n00by there as i am here, not that anyone cares...i think that the people who abuse specops should be banned from both forums and kicked out of the brigade, but thats just my opinion...
