I've narrowed down my search to either a used Dye matrix LCD or a used Electro Cocker.
I am leaning strongly towards the Cocker cause they are so much easier to find ( for me at least) but I am worried about the maitenence issues, especially the timing, selinoid etc... I guess what i'm asking is how difficult is it to maintain an E-bladed cocker? Thanks for your help! |

Heyya! Explain why the Matrix is so much better? I'd take the Autococker personally, simply because it's an Autococker and you can truely make it your gun. A Matrix is not very air efficient, whereas the Autococker is. Both are fast, both run at a low pressure, both have anti-chop mechanisms...I don't see why one is much better than the other. I for one feel that any high-end gun (Matrix, Angel, Intimidator, upped autocockers, etc) are the same as far as preformance, it's just small features or feelings (personal preferance) that make the difference. Good luck! |

The Autococker will be more accurate because of the closed bolt design, but if the Matrix has eyes get it, their much less work, I own an electro cocker and I have shot a matrix, so I would go with the trix

Heyya! Okay, time to be a jerk. Closed bolt it no more accurate than an open-bolt marker. Same thing with pumps being no more accurate. In fact, a pump marker is on average, less accurate because those that use pumps don't usually use HPA or regulators. Autocockers are not a lot of work. Pulling a pin and taking out a bolt then wiping it down, oil in the air source adaptor, and then wiping the body down isn't too hard in my book. If a person finds this difficult, then I feel that they are either too stupid to play paintball or lazier than I am and therefore, do not have a job and are too poor to play paintball (please note, I am not making a judgement call on you). Anyway, the Autococker has an eye as well, I think a break-beam laser. Good luck! |

The autococker maintenance you have described is extremely basic and limited maintenance. This does not include LPR, valve, etc maintenance to flush out dirt and debris. Regular maintenance of Trixes require more effort than the basic maintenance you have described above, but by no means is it difficult. The only downside I see to Trixes are the amount of o-rings that need attention to avoid leaks. Autocockers, without highly customized upgrades, like having an E1 or E2 installed, do not have breakbeam eyes. The E2 is breakbeam capable, but all installations I've seen are based on a reflective eye system. Another point is the latest breakbeam systems do not use "lasers", but infrared light. And this is coming from a G7 owner. |

Ok thanks for all the help, but im still not sure. I Have the option to get a E2ed cocker, or a almost stock trix for about the same price.
With the trix I am worried about the reg maitnance, and the seem quite big to me, not that the cocker is tiny, but not quite as big. How difficult is maitnence for both markers, cause thats really the only thing I'm worried about. (sorry for all the ?s, I'm sure you all are tired of seeing this bumped, but i need some help.) |

Trixes are simple to rebuild, and there is almost no way of rebuilding
the marker improperly as long as you follow the manual. The
things to remember is to clean and regrease the pneumatics every 4-5
cases, check the condition of the o-rings, and if you're playing in
cold temperatures, increase the frequency of this maintenance.
Full cocker maintenance requires more knowledge, so if you consider this simple, the trix will be a breeze for you. Cocker maintenance requires liquid threadlocking, attention to detail, a specialized tool, and lots of patience. |

Either a matrix or a cocker would be good guns. I have owned both and honestly, i liked the matrix more then the E2'd cocker. It was quiet, VERY efficient, fast and just felt nice. I got about a hopper and 8 pods off my tequila sunrise with evolve kit and a 68/4500 fill. The cocker ran at about a hopper and 5 pods off the same fill. Both guns can have PSP/ramp capabilities, which is a lot of fun, but generally not needed. The Matrix board will be more customizable then say an E2 will, in terms of ramp settings and such.
Between reflective eye on the cocker and beam break eye with the trix, either will work well as long as they are set up right and not blocked by paint or anything. If it is a stock Dye trix with ACE and everything, i would say go with that. If it is a stock Gen-E, go with the E2 cocker. Gen-E's generally function the same, but i dont like the no ACE and crappy regs they come with. [FI_Reigns]: Hells Oracle? Reticule: How come you havent been in chat? |

Heyya! Note I said "I think" I never had to cleaned out my LPR or valve or anything...? I timed it every few months or when I changed something. I would occasionally take out the valve and clean it, but the pneus were fine. Anywayz...good luck.
