I'm putting together a new field and I'm currently looking for rental markers to use.  I was going to go with the Tippmann 98 custom for all normal reasons, but someone recommened a GTF Field Master.  I've never heard of this and can't find much on it.  Anyone with experience that has something to say about it would be much appreciated.

Also, what is the general opinion of a field using only HPA rather than CO2?  More cost effective in the long run.

Try and get CO2, it'll bring in more business. i've never heard of the Field Master, but some Electro Spyder clones or used 98's will do nice...

Use pro carbines, they are tanks.

^Pirate^, stop suggesting spyders for anything; they are not good. Plus, they will not stand up to the wear and tear of field use.

98c is a bad rental gun

they are not hard to work on, but the clamshell design makes losing pieces while working on them an immenent problem, also alot of people have them so stealing pieces or entire guns becomes a problem

rental guns are usually pro-carbines, simple guts, rugged, very rugged, there are fewer parts to take out for cleaning or repair, i worked at a field, and i would work at the corresponding shop fixing rental guns, i could do valve changes and cleanings for 8 guns an hour or better, very time and labor efficient

What about the co2/HPA question?  I figured that if I provided HPA to anyone that played, it would be better?  Should I go with co2?

For the rentals, C02. I say that because a.) the tanks are cheaper than an HPA tank that holds the same number of shots, b.) there is no guage to break on a C02 tank and c.) overall less to go wrong on a C02 tank. Keep both bulk air supplies on hand for filling (non rental players tanks)

Since tippmann STOPPED making the pro/cab, have fun ordering them.

Tippmann is supposed to release a new gun shortly, designed for the rental market.

the field i go to uses icon z's,47/3000 hpa tanks, and v-force armour masks. they're a speedball field but also are building a woodsball field so they have a few 98s for it. they dont do that much renting so  they only have abouit 30 guns over all and about 50 tanks because they broke there co2 filler along time ago so they give you a rental tank if you bring co2 to get filled
