I have always wondered if a new bolt is worth it for a 98 custom. Here is the one I was thinking of getting. http:// It is the new venturi bolt, which comes with a powertube. I heard it is worth it. It doesn't cost to much either, so should I get it? And would this powertube work with the new cyclone feed system for the 98 custom?

What he said. No advantage to having an aftermarket front bolt on a Tippmann marker. For some other gun types... it may help. For Tippmanns... no.

The only way you should get an aftermarket bolt is if your stock bolt breaks.

If you somehow manage to break your front bolt... first thing you should do is evaluate just exactly how you did so... and then you should buy a new stock bolt.

Even if a front bolt failed me... I'd replace it with another stock one. In fact, I have spare stock bolts for all of my Tippmanns (SL's excluded)... but in all the years I've had them, have never needed to actually use a spare.

On a Tippmann at least, in Spyders and other guns, that might be a different case.

The internals on Tippmanns are the best on the market no matter what anybody says. DO NOT BUY NEW INTERNALS, THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT!!

It's been changed jackass.

I dont mean to be reluctant, but did anyone actually buy an aftermarket front bolt, rear bolt, or power tubed? while chronoing for consistancy, and a target for accuracy? I have only shot standard internals because it is what i had, and everybody told me that stock is the best. Im sure that tippmann has done a lot of research on their guns, but i see some advantages to an all metal setup like the pro seal.

Is there a setup of springs and bolts that can give you a faster cycle rate than stock 98c internals?

There are springs that make your trigger pull lighter and bolts the are aerodynamically better, but I don't know what it would do for the performance of your gun.

properly polished internals is all you need.I tried a starfire bolt not as consistent over chrony and louder.I for a personal
preference prefer an o-ringed bolt over a delrin only bolt.

Anti-Chop mod works awful with RT...

You can break your bolt by making it anti-chop.

Use the money on a different upgrade like a new trigger or something.  If the bolt shoots straight and doesnt chop then it can only get worse so why change?  The stock bolt is fine.  Get a new trigger or save for a e bolt or e grip if they start making one for the 98 I love mine for my A-5.
My guns name is Mr. Max in remembrance of my dog that got hit by a car: Tippmann A-5
Ricochet R-5
JCS double Trigger
Tippmann E-Grip
Flatline Barrel

Do you have the need for speed?

I get in the mood to buy something once in a while. I can't rest until I buy at least one thing.
