when you cock the tippmann 98, is it supposed to be very smooth, when i pull it back slowely it kinda get turbulance, not alot, but its a new gun and i just wanna know.

Also, what kind of oil should i use and how often?

Unless you've polished your internals or if it is a well worn in gun, the cocking action wont be smooth. If it feels gritty, open it up and clean.

Oil should be Hoppes 9, like Gold Cup or Love Juice. Drop a few drops in the ASA maybe every case you shoot, but most people also open their gun and oil their o-rings after every day of play as well.  these oils are available at any paintball shop.

thanks that helps alot, my last gun was a brass eagle TRITON, its a good step up
