anywhoo, I have an a-5, flatline system, and e-grip. These parts worked well untill a few hours after playing... I was playing up in a tower and I was shooting as fast as I can, my gun was on full auto, and every 30 or so shots it would shoot, dryfire, and shoot. 1 every 30 shots. I ran outta co2 by the end of the game so I needed to get something bigger than a 9 ounce, so I buy a 20, java tank, I had been using a pure energy tank, but when I played a speed ball field after the purchase my gun would shoot, then very quickly, automaticly it would shoot 5-7 shots of big c02 clouds and nothing would come out, I was full on paint and had just recently filled the 20 ounce. The problem has persisted ever sence and I have been forced to use my stock 98 from there on out. I have taken it to multiple 'air smiths' and they say it is a problem in the e-grip and they cant fix it beacause they arn't 'electricians' wich I think is bull **** sence alot of guns are electronic. any help?

btw I bought this gun second hand so I dont have a warranty, the gun worked fine for hours then it screwed up.

Check all of them, especially those in the valve, my gun did a similar thing, and the o ring was out of place.

Another idea; have you taken it completely apart recently, because if you have, you may have put a piece in incorrectly, which is really easy to do.

It sounds almost like your ball detent is in backwards....

well after looking at a diagram I am kinda thinking that my rear bolt o-ring might be shrunk, or expanded, or outtaplace, or broken cause if they're isnt enough co2 hitting the bolt once its released by the sear im thinking it dosnt blow back far enough to get caught by the sear and the spring that comes from the thing in the back keeps pushing it back and makes it fire some more c02

what do u think?

also where can I get a replacement oring, and how should the rear o ring fit. Size? what kinda oil should I use in it...

Best to get a tippmann A-5 o ring pack, you should be able to find a pack in just about any store that sells paintball stuff. Just about any kind of oil is ok to use. Best of luck

I had the problem of my A-5 stuttering after a couple of shots. It turned out the spring that holds the sear in place had weakened and wasn't holding the sear firmly enough to catch the bolt when it came back. All I had to do was stretch out that spring a little bit. I stopped by the Tippmann trailor at last year's TWC and got a new spring for it but I haven't had to ues it. Whenever I take the gun apart for a cleaning I stretch the spring out again and I haven't had any trouble with it since. You might want to try that before you go replacing o-rings and stuff.
No need to point out the perfectly obvious, the merely obvious will do.

Tippmann Has upgraded the sear pin. Instead of an oval hole in the sear there is now just a round hole.  That fixed mine..  Call Tippmann 10 to 1 they send out an updated sear.  Goodluck
