No, there is already a regulator on the tank!

The output pressure of the tank isnt 5000 psi, its still only 850 if you get a HP tank. For LP its around 450

You can still get a regulator if you really want it.

What he said. The tank itself is regulated. Just make sure it's not a low-pressure output tank. Most pre-set HPA tanks are high-pressure by default (around 850psi, as he stated).

Just screw the tank in and play. No additional expense necessary.

And just to be clear ... each tank has two pressures important to them (some have two pressure guages so you can track each. The first (the tank rating) is the storage pressure of the tank itself (5000psi in your case). The second is the output pressure of the tank's valve. For a high pressure markers (which I'm sure is what you have) it will be somewhere between 750-1000 psi. Most will be 800-850 psi.

You just have to remember that some places can only fill up to 4500psi.

Heck, I can't even find a place to fill a 4500 tank to full pressure.

No gun on the market would take 5000 psi to shoot a paintball. Not even a lead ball would need that much pressure to fire.

Not true. There are places with the capacity to fill tanks rated HIGHER than 5000psi.
Depends on what kind of compressor and/or booster the field/store invested in.
