HPA Fill Nipple Threads leaking

I am having a leak around the threads of the fill nipple on my Center Flag 68/4500 hit output preset tank. The nipple is screwed all the way in, but it is still leaking. Anyone ever had this problem? Any suggestions?

Yes, I have a suggestion, since this valve screws directly into the high pressure side of the tank you need to take some care as to how you work on it. This is a one way valve. Is it leaking from the threads (use a little soapy water tro check for leaks) or out of the valve itself?

If it truely is leaking from the threads then make sure the bottle is full degassed (no pressure inside at all). Remove the nipple with a correct fitting box end wrench so you do not round the corners. I am going to recomend that rather than Teflon that you use the blue colored Loc-Tite sealer. run a little bead of the sealer in the threads starting about 1 to 2 threads back from the tip. As you screw the fitting back into the side of the valve the sealant will be pushed up the threads to form a small bead around the fitting. You can wipe that off with a rag. The part that seals is in the threads. Loc-Tite sets up from the close contact of the threads excluding all oxygen from the contact area. You do not have to wait more than about 10 minutes to gas up the tank. Then check it again for leaks with the soapy water solution.

Lately I am making all my connections with red or blue Loc-Tite. The blue is relatively easy to disassemble. The red takes good fitting wrenches to remove fittings assembeled with it...and the longer it sits before disasssembly the more difficult it is to get apart...but it can be done. So far I have not had a leak using Loc-Tite!

If it still leaks, take it to an airsmith.
