Me and my  step dad  were debating over paintball scopes. He  says paintball guns dont have the range or accruacy to justify a scope.

I wanted to know whats the max range you can get with a paintball.

about 150 feet average. longer with a flatline. your step dads right they dont have good enough accuracy for a scope.

Exactly right.

Max range that you can get a paintball to I would say is over 150yds, after about 40yds paintballs really start to drop off so over that is not effective range. Just my estimates. But scopes really arnt practical for paintball markers.

its not 150yds because thats more than a football field! they can only max at 150 "FEET" and maybe around 200-220 Feet with a flatline

If you just absolutly want a scope, get one of those little red dot scopes.

NASA and the Americans spent millions of dollars and hundreds of hours to develop a pen that would write in space.....The Russians used a pencil.

I mean if you were to point it at a pretty extreme angle. It could probaly lob that far.

150ft (50yds) is what Tippmann considers "effective range", but I see it within that in reality.

Flatlines can get within the high 200fts effectivly, max, probaly just under 200yds.

Yea those red dots are pretty cool. They are putting them on the next generation of military firearms. But why do people get scopes tho?

because they think it helps your accuracy but it really doesnt. dont spend your money on a scope that doesnt even help. spend it on a new barrel! thats where you get better acuracy.

If you're playing speedball, you don't have time for scopes. I've seen a few n00bs show up at my local speedball field with scopes, thinking they would "own us with their 1 shot 1 kill".

I play with a red dot I love it in some cases and others never use it. If you
play were you wait for some one to come to you it can be realy handy
becuse you know that your first shots going to be close. This is how i
play most the time. If you play in hot fire fighs I find I dont use it you
dont have time to look through it. but when your wanting that first ball
to be close I find the red dot helps.

Scopes are useless for aiming, but can be very handy for target spotting and identifying.  I spend less time stalking stumps and logs when I play with my scope.  But I never use it for aiming.

No scope, I've tried it. But DO get a red-dot scope. Those work.. last time I played I got 2 eliminations using just the red dot.

These scopes are more of an intimidation tactic. The red dots work if you're
lying in wait for someone to enter your effective range. It also lets you
concentrate on the target. I wouldn't spend a boat load on a scope tho.
I wouldn't bother with a scope that has any type of magnification, you won't
reach the target.

Scopes are good for looking but not for aiming.

Get a red dot, and if you are worried about the red dot not showing up, put a piece of dark tape over the front of the sight so you cant see through it, then aim with both eyes open and the red dot will be superimposed onto the target.

If you are REALLY serious about your accuracy, you need to learn the right trigger pull...... forget all the other mess. If you jerk your trigger..... your balls will go in that direction... I have set up stand with gun alignment (for my 30-06) and "tested" all possibilities with scope, red dot, ect, ect. Very rarely does a paint ball hit the same exact spot more than once, so lose the scope idea, get an FOT if you must, but watch the way you squeeze the trigger.

Oh Yeah......... If you can figure out a GOOD way to mount a scope and be able to use it without taking off your gogles, I would like to see a pic of that!!!! LOL
