...what the hell would you drop it for? i hear they're pretty durable, someone went as far as to say it's as durable as a tippy, but i'm not sure i buy that. the body kit sure helps it, but don't go around saying "o look how durable this is" and throw it against a tree, that's not a good idea

I'd have to say they're as durable as any other high end marker out
there. If you drop a DM5 and an ion from the same height, I'm pretty
sure they'd both have equal damage.
As for equaling a Tippy? I doubt that. I've heard stories where people have run over their 98's with a car, and it still shot fine. Doubt if you could do that with an ion. |

well...I use my Ion in local engagements where sliding, diving and yes...falling...are a constant reminder that your knees require padding but the Ion keeps going without a hiccup. Body - I would tend to think that the body would be more durable, since the shell is made from tupperware Despite the "pro's" complaints about the Ion...she's held up pretty good so far. It's super light, super fast (stock) but the body shell leaves something to be desired and I didn't like the reg design. To be considered a "poor-man's Shocker" is a good start at assessing an Ion. One thing about it, and as in almost every marker, the stock barrel is crappy. I upped mine with a full Freak kit. I didn't like the looks of the stock reg (with or without the cover) and added a CP. I added a CP medium drop-forward and CP Unimount for better balance and I gotta tell ya...those additions were well worth the money. Now, everyone with a CNC machine is making bodies. I'm #62 for a Stage5 Lucky body, bolt and QEV kit...and next is a board. This has to be the nicest body out there...and incorporates a removable tail cap to remove/clean the bolt. It incorporates new eyes and a cover that allows you to access them from the OUTSIDE of the body and a new, lower feedneck.

^^Thats awesome...
I am going to wait till Warped Sportz comes out with their Ion body and if its cool enough I will get an Ion, but I'll probably just save for another couple of months and get a Shocker. |

my friends have more problems with autocockers and impulses than they do with ions-my friend had like snow on his co2 tank and it held up, although he didnt, he licked the tank and he left a bit of his tounge on it and then he drank mountain dew-he realized sticking a tounge on a iced co2 tank is not good
