I have a a5 with an rt but im looking to get into tournament ball and want a tournament gun that can compete with all the other tournament guns. As of now, i have money for the ion but not for the shocker. If i spend the money on the ion, would it get blown away by all the other hi-end guns? Should i just wait till i save enouph money for the shocker? Thanks

Before you get either gun, you're going to need an HPA tank and fast hopper. So consider that into your budget. But I'd go for the Ion. As long as your good, the gun won't really matter. |

well im sure you all know how both guns look sort of similar....but my local shop...tpa paintball told me the only difference between the 2 is the recoil....the ion has alittle more recoil then the shocker....mike said if he didn't have people sponser him with shockers he would buy an ion and save the money because the recoil part doesnt bother him nor does it bother many people.....so i would say ion |

Have you shot both? I own 2 Shockers, and have shot a few friend's
Ions, and I'm just going to say that you can feel the difference.
The Ion is a decent marker, if you take care of it. It has it's quarks, but so do many markers. With the stock board, it's capped at 17bps, and I've seen them achieve that speed on the field. However, the body/frame/trigger all feel cheap to me. There's no way I'd trade down to an Ion. Of course, your wallet, and your preference, are the ultimate deciding factors. If you can afford a Shocker, I'd recommend doing it. If you're fine with an Ion, do that and save yourself some cash. |

Depends on how long it would take to save up for the shocker, because if it would take a long time and you wanna play soon go ahead for the ion, cause with a decent hopper (best with Halo or egg2) and good nitro you will be able to compete if you are a good player

I think you would be happy with both, but in the long run, you'll like the shocker better.
What I would do, is look for a maxed out shocker, or one with most of the essential upgrades, and buy it. You can a fairly new, nice, maxed out shocker for around $500 or so. Thats what I would do. Good luck. |
