The parts for the "super rt" arrived from tippmann today.  Great service, it arrived the day after I called for it.  Anyways, here's my predicament:

The a-5 (with rt) comes standard with the banjo fitting for the cyclone, the banjo tfitting, and the banjo fitting for the response trigger.

All of these fittings and hoses are of a small size (i don't know the terminology for the size of these)

So, when the low pressure hoses arrived, it came with a larger hose (says 1/8'') and the banjo fitting for the response trigger, as well as the banjo t fitting to connect the response hose and cyclone hose to the gun.  My problem is this:  On the new t fitting, both hose connectors are 1/8'', so the old cyclone banjo fitting will not attach properly.

How can this problem be solved?  Do they sell banjo fittings at hardware stores etc.  Also, will a 1/8'' hose going to the cyclone cause damage, meaning I should find a t-connector with a 1/8'' on one side, and the smaller fitting on the other, or is it perfectly fine to get a 1/8'' banjo fitting for the cyclone?

If you find my questions confusing, please just give me information on how to get this overall system to work, and please be specific with what parts I need and where I can get them.  I'm not buying the QEV at the moment, so please don't just write posts suggesting that.  Thanks!

You should be using the larger low pressure fittings with the low pressure hose.  If the store is a Tippmann dealer they should be able to get it for you as that is how I got mine.

But will the low pressure fittings for the cyclone damage it (because it allows more gas to flow through them)?

It didn't do anything to my cyclone.

Alright :D  Anybody know of hardware stores that sell banjo fittings?  (such as home depot, home hardware, rona, something i could find easily?)

I want it ready to use on saturday :D

Oh, and did your cyclone keep up alright?

You should not run into any problem with the 1/8 hose , both my son and I use it and it works great. The r/t will always out shoot the cyclone with or without the QEV when properly tuned, but the the QEV should give you an additional 2-3bps over stock roughly 20bps . Some say they have achieved a higher bps.

Alright, I'm off to home depot and canadian tire to see if they have the banjo fitting for the cyclone, and some hose :)

Could I not simply call tippmann again, and tell them I do not have the cyclone, and need the one way 1/8'' banjo fitting?  The  tee fitting seems to have the exact same screw size as the one that goes on the cyclone's arm.

I'm definitely not buying from county sports... in the shipping to Canada is a minimum $46 USD...  Screw that... I hate having to pay so much for paintball gear in Canada because there are no good stores that sell specialty stuff like palmers etc.  Back to ebay i guess...

AHA! I have finally found a place to get all sorts of little do-dads that even the paintball shops do not carry in mississauga!

http://www.wainbee.com/index.asp

Thank God for them! :D  They even have a 1/8" to 1/16" banjo tee!!!  Now I can hook up a standard QEV from paintball canada ($10) to the a-5's cyclone :D

i just got my parts for my a5 as well...same problem about the t fitting...the small hose from the cyclone was too small to fit the new bigger t fitting...but somehow i got it to fit on though...i just heated up the small hose with a blowdryer to soften it up...(did it few times) and some how i got the small hose to streatch up bigg enough to fit the t fitting....tested the gun out with a c02 tank with hardly any c02 left...the cyclone wasn't turning that much...probly due to the low co2.... ok.. =)

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee no don't do that... it'll end up bursting!  Check www.clippard.com and type in your area code, it will suggest a store near you.

Tomorrow I am going to the retailer suggested by clippard (Wainbee) and picking up a banjo tee with a 1/8'' on one side, and a 1/16'' on the other, to use the standard hose for the cyclone, and I'm simply going to buy a quick release valve from this shop as well.  It's a genaric part, but it should work.  I probably won't be going to high with my ROF but I might as well pick up the cheap future upgrade while I'm there...

I'll let everyone know if the cyclone functions properly after buying this genaric exhaust valve if I decide to buy it instead of the normal elbow.

The small hose that connects to the cyclone will break because of the weakening of the plastic from it being streched. You don't need the QEV, but in order to get the most out of your R/T you want one.

When you get the QEV kit, make sure you get the LP one not the HP one.
