My girlfriend's custom pro hisses when I screw the tank on. I took it apart, and tried again, and it still hisses, though it can fire. I haven't tried paint yet.
The hissing seems to be coming from the powertube area. I have removed the powertube from the gun, but all the screws fit back easily and without any problems, so I doubt I stripped something etc. Please give me any ideas about what could be causing this. The last thing I want to have to do is pay to ship it back to Tippmann to get it fixed. If this kind of think has happened to you, please give me some information. Note: The co2 tank was full at the moment, and worked perfectly on my a-5. Thanks in advance. |

i know this is stupid, but make sure that the gun is cocked. make sure everything is oiled. and check the valve. maybe just maybe like some say, how your tank can leak because the pin something is blocking it, try pushing on the pin a couple times to reset it. also, maybe pieces of something may be inside. like loctite

Gun is oiled fine, was cocked (i told you i fired it :p), everything is perfect, but I wasn't sure how to remove the valve from the powertube and I didn't want to force anything... now I've learned how to push the valve out, I can try that, but it'll be another week befor I see my girlfriend and she needs some practice befor popping out the valve... Anyways, keep the suggestions and ideas coming, I can't do the whole trial and error thing, so I need all the ideas I can get for when I can finally take a look at it next week. |

Take the valve out of the power tube, reconnect the gas line, then screw the tank into the ASA. You will be able to tell exactly from where the gas is leaking. |

Did you try the oil in the ASA thing?

No, not yet... Did something like this happen to you and oiling fixed the problem? |

If your Hissing and the marker still operates , sounds like a very small leak. I would follow Bruce's advice . Take the marker apart and while you have the valve out with the braided hose attached to the valve and the ASA screw in your CO2 . You will find the leak. Look at the cup seal or the braided line where it screws into the valve. |

try the oil in ASA first, then try taking it apart and airing up the
valve with braided hose only and see if its a valve o-ring. It's probly
the 0-ring, thats why you want to try the oil in the ASA first-it might
just need to be lubed. if that dont work, the o-ring most likely needs
to be replaced.

If it is the o-ring, will it be obvious that the o-ring needs to be replaced or will it look relatively normal? |

Go read my post in It covers the dis-assembly of the valve. You can see there leaks might occure...pictures and all. Oil tends to clean the pin valve seat when the blast of air travels through the valve. |

If it is a small leak in one of your hose fittings, what you can do is dismantle the marker, and on your hose ends where it connects to the valve and where it connects to the ASA, wrap a strand of teflon tape around the threads, then reassemble. If it is a leak in the valve, this won't work. But if its just a small hissing and you're still able to fire the marker without the leak getting worse or the marker operation stopping, it sounds like a small leak in one of your connections. |
