I'm taking it you can afford HPA?

Out of the box, the Ion is your better bet. But a E2ed Cocker>Ion any day of the week IMO.

An E2ed cocker is a Autococker with a Electronic E2 trigger installed.

For a Ion I would suggest a freak kit, and for a Cocker I would suggest a Kaner Barrel Kit.

For a good tank I would go with a Crossfire Preset High output.

There are alot of factors involved, but out of the box, at least 15bps. with an upgraded ram, back block, bolt, pump rod, and QEVs installed you can easily get up to 25bps.

Easily? No, I don't think it's "easy" to hit 25.

One thing of note...I have seen this happen twice, which is why I totally got turned off of Autocockers.  Both times, both Autocockers took a hit right where the microline hoses come out of the front of the marker and both times, the hoses popped off and ended the day for the guy and gal....

I have no experience with this barrel system yet, but I've ordered a Powerlyte Scepter barrel kit for my Ion.  I've heard they are far superior to Freaks and not many people have them.  I have a J&J Ceramic for both my Ion and Tippmann as of this writing.

i just boght an 04 vert, which is a prostock. i love the gun, and it is my new baby, accurate, quiet and reliable, but cockers do require a lot of learning. if your not willing to do this, get the ion. i think in the long run, however, a good cocker will be your best bet.

I like my Ion, alot.  It's extremely light and the trigger can be adjusted to a feather pull.  As far as cleaning...it's extremely easy, but just takes a delicate touch.  I would have to say that it is every bit as easy as a Tippmann 98, to clean and take apart.  Also, unless you get a ball chop (meaning a break in the breech), you really only have to take it apart every 8 or 9 outings, to re-lube.

the breech would be where the paint enters the gun in front of the bolt before being fired.
