I've heard of Tippmann's new Anti-Chop Technology (ACT), but what is the difference in a 98 Custom with ACT: http://www.anythingxtreme.com/Tippmann-98-Custom-ACT-Paintba ll-Guns-P14454C4091.aspx And a 98 Custom with Electronic ACT: http://www.anythingxtreme.com/Tippmann-98-Custom-Electronic- ACT-Paintball-Guns-P14455C4091.aspx Any ideas? |

I'm guessing one has an E-grip?
The ACT hasnt even been released yet on its own, so just wait like the rest of us. Edited by You Wont See Me - 27 March 2006 at 4:39pm |

Yes there is. Click on Product Features on the left of center top of the page just above the pictures. It says that these Anti-Chop Technology Electronic markers have the E-Bolt installed. Wonder when the product page was last updated? Or do they actually have what they claim? Is Tippmann reintoducing the E-Bolt with the new ACT feature? Edited by Bruce A. I find it very curious that the markers pictured are 98C's and not Custom Pro's.

Strange...On Action Village it says it's gonna be an E-Grip. But at xpaintball, it says E-Bolt. I really hope its an E-bolt....

Can someone tell me specific differences between a Custom Pro with E-Trigger and a 98 Custom with an E-Trigger?

A stock 98C without ACT runs around $130. So you're telling me that with this new technology and an e-trigger (which alone costs $100) it only costs $199? Isn't Tippmann taking a bit off a profit drop with that? |

Nothing with the E-trigger itself Bruce, the PRO comes with a Works barrel, a double trigger and a drop forward. As for the receiver halves(starting approximately this year) they are the same except for the raised lettering. |

This same store (xtremepaintball) is selling a 98C without ACT but with an e-bolt for $369. There's no way the $199 gun comes with e-bolt and ACT. Link: http://www.anythingxtreme.com/Tippmann-98-Custom-Electronic- Paintball-Guns-P4657C1383.aspx# |

^ yep, Tippmann don't even make the original reciever halves anymore
for the original 98 custom, now they are both the same (internally), so
the new custom 98 and the 98 custom pro can both except the e-trigger
now...pretty confusing if you ask me!

The retailers are charging the same price for the "old Type" and the A.C.T. type , this tells me two things , one Tippmann did not increase its price to the dealers and if you have patients you could probably pick up the old type for a good price, once the public understands old Vs new for the same price, the old should start declining in price as the new will be in more of a demand.

The Tippmann Cp proE A.C.T. has a WAS board installed.. so I think its just a sear tripper. They are pretty cheap, like 219$ at www.tippmannpros.com
