    Posted: 07 April 2006 at 7:27pm
My tax return came in and along with buying some other toys, I might want to get another paintball gun just for the heck of it. I was wondering if anyone one had any FIRST HAND expierence with the PCS US 5. I seem to like everything about it, but I dont have any real user accounts to go by. The search option provided little to no info. Now before you say "buy a tippmann" I already have quite a few(SL68 M98 a few carbines etc), and Im looking for a more traditional gun, not the pimp guns that seem to be flooding the market.
Thanks in advanace

I have one and i love it. it is same price as a-5 for the electronic version. only real downside i see is that it only tales spider threaded barrels.if you have any questions just ask

I heard it was a cheap ripoff of the a-5.  It apparently works fine etc.  but it's no tippmann for sure.  It probably performs more like a spyder.

Carl how is the Electronic version? I was orginally looking at the mechanical version...but the E is only a few dollars more.

electronic is amazing only downside is that fully auto is a little slow. electronic us-5 is same price as a-5.

and raven it is not a cheap knowkoff (knockoff yes cheap no)  only difference between that and a5 is cyclone and barel threading. ive heard some people with a5s tell me that they wish they had of bought my gun instead.

I dunno about that, we'll see how it handles getting dropped from the roof of a house, and then we'll know if it's a cheap knockoff aswell :P

definitely isn't doing as well at pbreview.com...

it is a strong as tippmann as i loked at frame of each before buying. and the reason it isint doing well at pbreview.com is that one stupid reviewer. anyone who gives a product a 1 shouldn't be allowed a computer. no product is worth a 1 unless it falls apart right out of the box.

they are the same gun inside and out except cyclone and threading. believe me i looked at a parts and intrenal diagram for each.

Doesn't tippmann have a patent on their valve?  As well as the entire design? :p

There must be some differences

of course not a 10 but neither does the a5 deserve a 10.

i was playing with a kid who had the mechanical one. he had a Zombie barrel
on it, and it actually held it's own on the field(but then again, it was noob
night). anyways, not nearly as loud as my MR1(but alas, it broke again. that's
why i'm getting a tippmann) and much, MUCH lighter. but i'd get the real
thing, because a knock off is a knock off, and no matter how good PMI made
the US-5, it'll never be able to compete with an A5.

I don't think they look the same...

They are similar though.  I prefer the a-5, but I'm sure its a good beginner gun.
