Hi, after fixing my gun yesterday and adjusting the r/t to have
a light trigger pull to shoot..well..i didnt know the trigger could do
automactic shooting..and when i turned the velocity all the way down it
works great..and fires real fast if i keep pressure on the trigger..but
when i turn my velocity up to normal it doesnt work..its semi auto then..it only works when
the pressure is all the way down..any help? thanks
EDIT the little nubbing behind the trigger doesnt push out when i have my velocity up to normal..but it does when i have the pressure all the way down..i just noticed that. Edited by mgs251 - 15 April 2006 at 10:39am |

An RVA or stronger drive spring may help your problem. The RT works on wasted/excess gas, and the regular velocity adjuster lowers the velocity by wasting gas. Your gun is just running efficiently and not wasting enough gas. By increasing pressure on the valve, using a spring or RVA, you can force the gun to waste more gas, improving the RT performance. Of course, efficiency will suffer a little, but that should be a good tradeoff. |

Well when i bought my gun i got a huge kit of spare and stock
parts..there are alot of springs in it..some smaller and some
longer..im just not sure which to use cause this is my first time
useing tippman..theres one spring in the gun thats long..and i have 2
other ones..1 is shorter with no color tip..and one is long with a blue
tip..which one should i use? thanks
Edit..ok i put in the longest spring i had..the purple tipped one..it wassnt much longer then the one i had in it..but i can tell the bolts snapping back a little harder then before when i pull the trigger...i called the paintball shop and asked the guy if he had a rva for a 98c..he said he had a spring tension adjuster that fits onto the end piece of the gun like a rva..so ill try it.it should have the same affect right?... can someone point out a spring i need or something..or the lentgh of it..im clueless here..and anything else i need Edited by mgs251 - 15 April 2006 at 12:51pm |

hmmm.... i would try removing the flow controll fitting on the side of the marker and drip a single drop of oil into the R/T cylinder then replace the flow controll. if the cylinder gets a bit dry it dosen't work properly. it should work well with high or low velocity. |

ok the spring seem to of fixed the problem..but my god the things a gas
hog..it went through an 8 ounce in less them 5 mins..under 400 balls
too..it doesnt seem consistant..sometimes the gun uncocks..but not
often..i turned the little knob out some and it fires full auto..i
turned it down some and it seemed to do 3-4 round bust..is there any
place where i can get some info on tweaking this system..if i shoot
like a 10 round burst..it wont do it again if i try to do another right
after...whats up with this...it does awesome when the tank if full..but
when it gets like halfway full auto and burst dont happen..why is
this..and how do i fix it..with a bigger co2 bottle? i have one 8 and a
12..it did half of the 12 ounch in 100 balls..i dont understand

1. try oiling the R/T cylinder like described above 2. do you have any idea what your velocity is now that you have a aftermarket spring in it? you may be hitting the valve so hard that it is staying open way too long and wasting a bunch of air that you don't need to. 3. your gun uncocking is also an indicator that the drive spring may be too heavy, it can't generate enough blowback to fight the spring....or your tank is nearing it's end. 4. to find info on tweaking your R/T search for "sweet spot" "R/T" or anything else that you can think of, there are many many post on this subject. |

Ok ill oil the cylinder in the morning..
I dont know what the velocity is..i have no way of telling either.but i did turn it down a good ammount.but it stills shoots good the drive sppring is only about 4 threads bigger then the other the gun did great without balls and didnt uncock at all when i tried it without balls a few mins ago..i wish i could get it to use less co2 darnit...i dont know how i could fix the excess useage of co2..if you have any ideas it will help..cause if i get a smaller drive spring the r/t wont work..thanks |

400 balls from an 8 oz is pretty decent. Keep in mind also that when shooting fast with CO2 the efficiency drops bigtime. HPA will fix that problem, and there are various other expansion aids to help fight the issue. |

anti-siphoned tanks would also help, it would prevent getting liquid in your gun wich would save CO2 also. you are speaking of pretty small tanks, a 20 oz would get you more shots but is heavier.

This is true. 400 from an 8 oz is nice for a stock a-5. |
