Topic: A-5 Low Pressure Kit Problem - CO2?Posted: 14 May 2006 at 10:38pm |

I recently installed a low pressure kit and a Palmer Fatty on my A-5 and am running co2. It seems that it is not able to shoot correctly under 410psi. Anywhere under 410psi sounds like the sear isn't catching the rear bolt, like when you run out of co2 and your marker makes that long burping sound. In order for it to shoot at optimal velocity (around 260-280fps), the velocity screw has to be turned out all the way and the pressure has to be set at about 550psi. Is this a common co2 problem? Or a drive spring issue? Any kind of help or suggestions would be apreciated.

I know that it's supposed to run around 325-350psi with nitrogen(I assumed co2 too, but now I'm not too sure). Are you saying 400psi is a normal range for co2? Are you basing this off your marker setup? |

Honestly 50-75 psi is not alot of difference. That much in no way effects your marker. The lowest operating pressure with CO2 is normally in the same general area as HPA, however Co2 is a lot more temperture dependant and sometimes you can CO2 to operate at lower pressures than HPA due to the volue of the liquid. Example: I don't have an LPK on my Pro/Carbine, I do however have a palmers stab. On a average day ~70* F I can get my operating pressure with HPA down to around 500 before it stops recocking. But on the same day I got my operating pressure with CO2 down to 425 before it stoped recocking. But that really has no bearing on this disscussion. The fact of the matter is that 50-100psi isn't eough pressure to matter. Besides, the LPK doesn't do anything proformance wise for the gun anyways. |

The lowest pressure my A-5w/LPK is capable of firing is at 410psi, but not effectively. At 410psi, it only shoots a distance of about 50ft and thats with the velocity screw adjusted at its max. I have to raise the pressure to about 550psi to achieve the proper velocity and distance. With the lpk, optimal shooting pressure should be around 325psi, not 550psi. If your pro carbine can shoot down to 425psi without a lpk, that gives me more reason to believe that something is not right with my setup. Anyone else have any ideas what on could be wrong? Has anyone had this problem before and was able to fix it? |

I'd say its with the regulator. If I remember correctly the only
reg Palmer's makes that is compatible with Co2 is the Stabilizer.
The Fatty is a different model and may not be compatible with CO2.

Paint size to bore size fit can easily change velocity 100 fps. The closer the ball diameter to the bore diameter the higher the velocity at the same pressure settings.
