I want to get a DSLR so badly I can't stand it, but that price tag stops me every time. I'll probably have to get a film SLR and prove to myself that I'll actually use it before making the hefty jump to digital. Hobby photography doesn't lend itself to the digital world if you are broke.
PS- You need to get a flickr account and put some of your work there, just so we can see some of it. Edited by Dazed - 19 May 2006 at 2:41pm |

lol Auburn U's library allows one week free camera rentals to students. They have some very nice models to choose from. You break it you buy it, scratch it, pay a fee though. Edited by Project Irene - 19 May 2006 at 5:02pm |

Actualy, All film has going for it against todays digital photography is a some what better depth of field.
Other then that, Digital actualy out wieghs film, In expense and overall area effectivness. You cant underestimate the ability to actualy see your photo right after you take it. In nature photography, It is nearly expected you take at least 50 images of one subject in order to achieve a decent picture, Where as with digital you immiediatly know when you got the correct image. Further, Professional positive (Slides) devolping takes a hell of a long time and is pretty costly. Most positives need to be shipped out a long way's for most photographers to get proffesional devolpment. I've been takeing and selling proffesional wildlife images for the past 6 years, Trust me... digital is really starting to out-wiegh film, Any one who sais otherwise is either just being faithfull to old equipment, which is fine... Or they dont have the experiance to realy tell. But to get digital that will rival film... You need to shell out some big cash on the DSLR. |
