Well, I'm back. I was gone for a couple months working at a Christian summer camp. but I did bring something back with me. at the camp they have paintball and they have a ton of 98s that they use as rental guns and I decided to ask how much it would be to buy one. it turned out that it would only cost me 40$ to buy one. so I went for it. it looks really bad on the outside but it works perfectly fine. here it is

I'm not really sure what I want to do to it yet. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Paint it...soon.

Then look into a new barrel, RT, and cyclone.

Interesting, looks like you found it in a lake.

I'd leave it like that on the outside, gives it character.

May i ask what camp? It sounds very similar to a camp i attended this summer.

the name of the camp is River Valley Ranch. its like 30 minutes north of baltimore Maryland.

as for if it has a feed neck. yes it has one, I just took it off for the picture.

I am definitally going to strip off the rest of the old paint, but after that I'm not sure if I am going to paint it or just polish up the metal.

again, any suggestions on how to upgrade/personalize it? I have an A-5 already but I wanted this gun to basicly be my "experiment" gun.

If you wanted to personalize it, right now would look like a good time to do some milling/painting...make it look nice.

Then maybe go with a barrel, double trigger, and maybe an expansion chamber or dropforward as some beginning upgrades. Then later you can RT or E-bolt it.

You know what would look cool? If you tried to polish the exposed metal splotches. That would be nifty.

Leave it like that and see if you can make it into a "sleeper" gun. Wouldn't that be great? People look at it and label it crap and don't think of you as very good, then you show them up with it. Get a R/T and get a 8 inch lapco bigshot barrel so it looks stock. As for the hopper, well maybe a revvy won't ruin it too much.

i like that idea, but i think an ebolt would be better, but not cover up the side so it looks stock...
