I haven't picked up playing for about a year now and I think its time to get back into it. I cannot believe the number of new products since I last checked.

So my question is. If im looking for a mid/high range marker what would I be looking at?
Im not a big fan of the Ion although I do like the imp. Awhile ago I was thinking about getting a mag but those seem to be dissapearing fast. I was thinking between some sort of ICD.. maybe a promaster. Im open to any suggestions. Anything that isnt too expensive.. Id like to keep it less than $400.

I noticed that. All I see on pbreview are good things about it.

Did it replace the BKO or B2K? no one seems to be selling either anymore.

BKOs are gone, they were like $125 then they sold like crazy-but no eyes

b2k4-gone,

promasters pretty much replaced them, promasters are the greatest gun under $300

for about $400 you can get a nerve, and a D2 for $440ish

do you mind used guns?  If you dont, a whole world just opened up for you, and impulses are VERY cheap used compared to what they used to be

Used isnt too bad. You just hope you arent getting someone elses problem. I think the promaster looks good for me. Something that is fairly good out of the box and made by ICD so it cant be bad. The only problem im seeing is solenoid problems.. but that happens with pretty much every gun at some point.

solenoid problems??? My solenoid locked up on my A5s WAS board. I cleaned it off with papertowls & put a 1/2 drop of P/B oil on it . no trouble anymore. can I buy new solenoids if anything else goes wrong?

If you're still interested in Mags, build one! While the whole gun is increasingly hard to find, except direct from the source, a whole world of parts and accessories are still available for it! They are easy to build too, with only 3 chief parts, the valve assembly, rail, and frame.

www.automags.org is a good place for them. There's a classafides section there, so it's easy to find what you're looking for. I just picked up some E-Mag lowers there!

if you want to go electro, get the Promaster.  It's great all around.  However, i'd recommend a mechanical for a first marker.  That way, you will gain experiance, while not burning up as much cash.  Plus, they're easier to maintain.  Plus, if you decide to get a new marker, you have a backup/loaner marker.  If you already have a semi and/or you really like the idea of having an electro, i'd go with the promaster.

I already have a 98 custom that I got back in 2000-2001 and then a Piranha(big mistake) that I got in '03 or something like that. I havent played at all yet this year but for osme reason I still love buying and upgrading gear even if i dont play much.

I was thinking about an impulse before but the promaster seems like a great buy considering the price drop from what it used to be.

I may get a mag in the future, depends if im still playing.

Thanks for the help.

Oh.. and by the way.. If I was to build a mag id use Logic customs. They are pretty cheap for the quality mags they spit out.
