ok well egg- need batteries, and breaks kinda easy(depending on how you treat your stuff) cyclone- gives you a big target on the right side of your gun, bigger, so, since you have a 98, and prolly not centerfeeded, then go with the cyclone |

Pssht. Vlocity, Vlocity Jr. (not released), or a Halo B. Get one of those used and your set, also get a centerfeed (it makes things easier).

Vlocity? Are you kidding me? TERRIBLE hopper. Egg2 breaks easily as well..trust me. Cyclone will last the longest and take the most out of all the other ones.. and you can add cheap upgrades to increase cycle speed, such as a Q.E.V., Vortex Mod, or 1\8 hoses... An upgrade to feed the Halo faster will cost ALTEAST 40-90$... where as you can get a Q.E.V. for 10$, Vortex Mod for 30$, and 1\8 hose + barb for 9$.....see the price difference? :-P I love the Cyclone.

Vlocity is lighter, faster, smaller, and stronger than a Halo B. The only weakness is that it cannot take the Speedfeed (unreleased models will though). The cyclone is tumor feeding 15bps. The Vlocity feeds 25 stock, but there are no upgrades available for the models that are out now. I know this post is sparatic but it basically says the truth... Vlocity>Halo B>Cyclone |

The Cyclone is an outstanding hopper. The only real downside is that the side placement can be a disadvantage in serious speedball play. In the woods, this becomes an advantage instead. The Eggo I would generally recommend against. The battery doors break constantly, and the lid can be tricky to operate under fire without spilling all your paint. If you don't want the Cyclone, I would suggest either a Revolution or HALO/Reloader/VLocity, depending on your speed needs. |

Once again, the Cyclone can feed UP TO 26BPS with the correct mods.. and it is MUCH more durable than the Vlocity.. and the Egg2.. bleh! Jersey, did you ever install a Q.E.V. or anything on your cyclone? There are many cheap ways to make it cycle alot faster.

I'm sorry if seeing that I have to mod the Cyclone to get it to feed 26bps, when I can find a used Vlocity for around $60-70 and get 25 stock. Now the new Vlocitys will be able to blow all hoppers out of the water (unless something blindsides the market) because it will be upgardable and have an even smaller version of itself (Vlocity Jr.). And just wondering. What is this $90 mod for the Halo B. Edited by jerseypaint - 25 September 2006 at 2:13pm |

Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

90$ mod can include Cheetah Boards...and I have yet to see a Vlocity for 60$....either way, with the Cyclone you have a much more reliable hopper, and if anything does break, it is easily replaced via Tippmannparts.com if you have a "thing" for the Vlocity.. that's fine, but you're the first person I've ever heard say it's good. Their motors are also very prone to wearing down prematurely. I doubt these Jrs will blow anything out of the "water" seeing as Halo is about to release a new model that is capable of doing 36bps and has the true reliabilty that players require on the field. Either way, my Cyclone does fine with my E-Grip at 19-20bps....I don't even have a Vortex mod, all I have is the Q.E.V. and 1\8 hoses...Boi!

From most online stores Halo B's are 90 bucks.... vlocity is like 130... but you can find them used for cheaper i have a halo b and cyclone and the halo b is much better faster even when i had a QEV and vortex... they have out now a EGG 3... 23bps its 80 bucks... all i have to say is qloader>vlocity>Halo B>Cyclone>Egg 2... it seems like the egg 3 is basically an egg 2 with a y board or z board or whatever that anti jam board that they have is

Okay. The hoses let more air in, the new ratchet is better and QEV stands for Quick Exhaust Valve which alow for faster cycles. I'm guessing he's saying American because that how I know them as. And most proshops probably won't carry all you need, just search the web and the hoses you need to get for Tippmann. |

From what I've heard, Halo B can break easly at the feedneck. Also the general consesus with some of my speedball friends is that the Halo is good, but the velocity is better.
